We don't use any milk and only half the butter called for in the directions. The result is a drier macaroni but everyone likes it better. I think the cheese flavor has reduced over the years (or else my taste buds are getting old) but, still, it makes a good side dish for any quick dinner. Buying in bulk makes the price better, too.
