I've had my trusty humidor for a while and thought it was time for an upgrade so I shopped around and considered my options. I had finally choose this product! It is a great crystal humidifier which is a big upgrade from the original sponge. It keeps a constant humidity of 70% with the Xikar Solution which is needed. A paper warns not to use 50/50 solutions but Xikars own solution. Truly the Xikar solution offers a more stable humidity levels over time while the 50/50 solution will fluctuate more and might gum up the humidifier. Xikar says their solution evaporates evenly for a more balanced level of humidity without the rapid fluctuations of the 50/50 solutions. So to be on the safeside I would recommend you purchase the Xikar Solution. The humidifier is clear so you know visibly when to refill with solution as you can see the crystals have shrank and shriveled. They swell up when refilled and disperse the solution over time! It will be months before you need to refill!All in All, it's a great product and highly recommended 10/10

Second time buying this one. The first one dried out (negligence on my part) and it got mold so I threw it out. Thankfully my cigars were not affected. This isn’t a complaint. This humidifier lasted me almost 3 years and all that was used was distilled water whenever needed. It kept about 30 cigars at a perfect 70% humidity the entire time. Great little puck. Just fill up, let it set into the crystals for a few minutes and then place it back into the humidor. I’d check it every couple of weeks just to be sure it was holding and it never failed. I will keep buy this same one for the foreseeable future.

I find you need more than 1 of these per 50 cigars, but once your humidor gets stabilized at 68%-70% these things are about as no hassle as you can get. They will last weeks (month+ if you do not open your humidor often) without needing to refill.

This thing is perfect for a new desktop humidor that I got as a gift. The metal base can be attached to the top of lid and adequately humidify up to 30 cigars without getting in the way. I choose to use the Xicar solution with it that is pre mixed and it worked well with the crystals swelling up to hold the fluid nicely.

I realized that an old wooden box I'd had for years was actually an old humidor, except I'd used it for old pictures. With the simple addition of this humidifier and an analog hygrometer, I now have a very functional and classic humidor. It keeps my cigars at a constant level of humidity, and I only have to refill it every month or so. Very easy to install and use. I highly recommend.

Very nice product. I use this in conjunction with my electronic humidifier to help keep it from running. It works great. This enables me to leave my humidor when I travel for 30-60 days without maintenance.Without the electronic humidor, you will have a bit less wiggle room, but it's awesome by itself too.

Humidor seal is good, but this has only been able to get my humidity up to 66%, not the 70% cigars should be kept at....It did raise it from 64% to 66%, but was really expecting 69-70%

Seems to be holding at 68. Small box which holds about 25...however, holding less due to humidification device taking up space. (Too large for pre-routed hole) Make sure box is seasoned...at first mine wasn't and RH wouldn't hold. I finally took a sponge to it...twice. Problem solved. A wet sponge on top of baggy wasn't working and probably would have never worked to season my box as it had been dry for nearly 10 years!!! I recommend product. Nearly maintenance free. Use their premix glycol solution.
IT WORKS
Bought this because I just couldn't get the humidity to 60 with an empty humidor with the crappy foam ones. Bought this, it got up to 65 and put the cigars in and while it dipped a little as they hydrated it now sits at close to 70 which apparently out here on the prairies is unheard of without extra humidifier packs (take that with a grain of salt as it came from a seller). also lasts for quite a while and you can SEE how hydrated the puck is which is a game changer - no more guess n tip.
