I needed a travel humidor and this worked perfectly. The foam is smooth egg crate type. Still worked ok. It can hold a large amount without the foam as well. Xikar make good quality products imo.

Great travel carrier. Throw it in my motorcycle saddlebags for overnighters or longer trips and it keeps my smokes in great shape. For me, I removed one of the foam layers and just use a base and one separating sheet. I use a Boveda pack for humidification, but think I may have to go up one value to a more 'wet' pack. While the unit is solid and appears very well built, I don't feel like it keeps the humidity as well as my larger Xicar cases do (admittedly, this is 'feeling', I haven't yet measured to validate). Overall, I couldn't be more pleased.

I bought this to compliment my 5 stick humidor by Xikar. This works just as well. I have had them in my luggage on a flight with no issues - and no pressure issues either.I don't use the built in humidifier, but rater, I prefer the drymistat tubes. I toss one in per humidor (losing a seat for a cigar in each) and the humidity stays perfect.

I bought this as my first humidor because I have a trip planned soon and wanted something to bring my cigars with me. Unfortunately, the inside foam is NOT the same as in the image. The foam in mine isn't curved like in the photo. The foam is basically shallow egg-crate foam. As that's not too much of an issue, it's still not really cool to deceive customers. I don't know if it's the manufacturer's fault or the seller but I was looking for the foam shown in the photo as it looks like it would be better for holding cigars.However, I'm still fairly pleased with the product as it feels solid and seals rather well when closed. I'm confident it will keep my cigars in good condition for when I travel and for use at home as well. The hinge on the rear is a nice piano hinge type which I was pleased with and the front clips feel solid when they're closed. There's no option to lock the box, but then again, I don't know who locks their humidor, but it's crossed my mind sometimes.Also, regarding the foam inserts, the top foam layer is glued to the interior of the top of the humidor. The foam layers on the bottom are not glued and there's three layers of foam to accommodate a decent number of cigars. I suspect one could put more than fifteen cigars if desired, depending on the size of the cigars.Overall, I'm pleased with this humidor but I will state that this is my first humidor. So, please keep in mind that this review is coming from someone who hasn't had a humidor until now. Experienced cigar lovers who have other humidors may have a different review of this product.

It fits 15 big size cigars, so they arent lying like some humidors do and say they hold a certain number but its only for robusto sizes lol. I didn't wanna use the built in humidor thing so i bought a gel stick humidor device. Works like a charm and the case is built like tank.

This works great. I am able to keep it at 70% at all times. I use the xikar solution with it and it seems to work great. I have been using it for a month now and I have only had to refill the humidifier filter once. Love it for traveling too. I took it to alaska and didn't have a problem with it getting crushed or wet even with raining on it.

I have done research one humidors and it was down to two that I like. They where both pricey, but I wanted the Xikar more than the other one. And for a 15 cigars count this price was just right. The cost for this Xikar is the price for a 5 cigars count. I'm very thankful i waited to purchase. So far it has 13 cigars, puncher and a humidity control bag. I must say so far I'm very please with my purchase. 💘

I had read reviews before purchasing and was concerned as I was giving this as a gift to my husband in PR. This had to go onto a plane before I gave it to him. But when we arrived I opened it no problems, as did my husband when we got home. It was a great gift and kept my husbands cigars fresh while away for a week.

Strong but light, good tight seal. I'm sure you could forget it in a boat and not ruin the cigars
