I just ordered this for Christmas for my 5 and 6-year old girls. What I found is that the price on Bolo fluctuates frequently. Over a period of two weeks, I saw this listed as over $200 to the lowest of $99. I picked it up at $129 plus free shipping. I'm guessing this is a hot product for Christmas, and as the holiday draws closer, the price drops. At $129, I feel like I got a steal, even though less than a week later it dropped another $30! That said, it came in a large brown box and was delivered within a few days. The box said what the item was but didn't have any photos on the outside. Fortunately, I read many of the reviews on this site and was prepared beforehand with some lube for the elevator, some wood glue, a hand drill with phillips head bits, a regular hand phillips head, and alcohol. I put this together alone, with a wide open work space, low stress (no kids around), and with a nice frothy beverage. From the time I started cutting the box until the time I was done putting it together was right aorund four hours. Anyone who says they did this in an hour and a half alone is a stone cold liar - yes I said it. I'm a pefectionist, but it's just not possible for a first-timer. If I'd put together a few of these, I could probably cut the time some, but I hardly think I could cut it in half. With two people and one of those two being skilled, maybe two to three hours...maybe. That said, I did not have a single hiccup in building this thing. The directions have no words, but the pictures are very clear. There were a total of 29 steps...by the time I hit step 5 I was glad I had beer on hand. But it was not hard by any stretch, just time consuming. I wish the pictures in the instruction manual had some color photos...this would have helped on one or two of the steps, but I just looked up pictures of the product on Bolo on my phone and that was good enough to guide me. All the parts were clearly labeled and numbered with a little white sticker, which was really important to the ease of putting this together. The screws were all separated in a little vaccuum pouch, and were even color coded. Again, this was extremely important. All of the holes in the wood were in the right places and all of the wood was cut to the right dimension. When contructing the wing on the left, there was one piece that didn't match just perfect, but I made it work with little effort. When I started, I wood glued the elevator pieces, but stopped gluing there. By the time I had the whole thing put together, honestly I don't think it needs the wood glue. This thing is very sturdy, it's huge, and it's beautiful. I'm totally impressed with myself. I knew I was awesome, but I'm now in awe of myself for selecting this product and putting it together all by myself. I can not wait to see the look on my girls' faces come Christmas morning. Kidkraft made an awesome product in this doll house. I did purchase the Kidcraft Professional Doll Set as an accessory. Biggest warning I have for a prospective buyer is this thing is huge!! Like if it falls on a kid, you seriously have to worry about brain bleeds and hospital copays. I plan to anchor this to the wall, which likely will take more beer to do. I have to transport this from my mom's house to my house now, which will require keeping the main house split from the wing and using a pick-up truck bed. I have to admit, when I first opened the box, there was an alcohol-fueled tirade of choice expletives echoing throughout my mom's home, but once I set my mind to it, it went smooth as a baby bottom.

My 7 year old granddaughter asked for a Barbie townhome for Christmas. I looked at them at Walmart and after reading some 300 reviews decided that the Barbie dollhouse was plastic and cheaply made. I researched the Kid Kraft dollhouses which were hugeall wood and came with 30 some pieces of wood furniture. I ordered it and the box was the size of our kitchen table. My son took the box home and set it up the day before Christmas. It took some time to assemble but he handled it with ease. The dollhouse is truly spectacular. You need a lot of room because it is so very large. It is probably the single best gift I have ever bought her.I was amazed to see how well the Barbies all fit in the house and the furniture is all wood and of great quality. All her friends come over to play with her andthe Mansion. I ordered the Majestic Dollhouse but Bolo sent me the Majestic Mansion because they had run out of the one I ordered. When UPS delivered it the two men carried it into the house for me and my son picked it up for his home.This is probably the best dollhouse I have ever seen. It is bright, beautiful and sturdy. My son read all the helpful hint reviews posted at Bolo and was able to assemble it in three hours. His only issue was that the instructions were all pictures. No written instructions. Without all the extremely helpful reviews and hints from people who had built their dollhouses previously, he could have run into assembly problems. But after reading all the helpful hints, it went together smoothly.I have told everyone I know about this dollhouse because all our friends have granddaughters 7 and 8 years old. I am sure she will play with this dollhouse well into her teens. Great purchase.

OK, yes, the instructions are terrible, and it will take 2 people close to 5 hours to assemble it but once its done you will be very happy! You will need loads of patience to assemble it and my wife and I kept referring to the video to make sure we had the proper pieces. It is VERY easy to assemble sections backwards so there will be some unassembly time. But now for the good news! This is such a thoughtful, well designed dollhouse with fantastic graphics. It is perfect for little ones aged 3-8. The entire dollhouse exudes a good happy vibe! I was a hero with my grandaugher and for the first time we spent about a solid hour playing with it together. How can you put a price on that? I put loads of lighting in the rooms, the string fairly lights and then spent about $60 for 9 puck lights that you find at the big box stores which I put in each room. So my advice is BUY THIS, prepare for some challenging assembly and cuss words but bear with it. Put on reading glasses, get a short seat, and put all the parts down in a large room. Have fun!!
Big and good quality dollhouse with lots of furnitures included
Very fine wood and big dollhouse with lots of beautiful furnitures. Although, I would agree with other reviews that the floors are all bended (not able to put furnitures properly in some areas) and there are some scratches too, I still give them 5 stars anyway as I think the design of the product is absolutely very good, just the design of the packaging was poor. With this price, I can easily recommend this to anyone for their kids. Even the adults would find it beautiful and fun!

Very large but very nice dolls house
We purchased the Kidkraft 65252 Majestic Mansion Wooden Dolls House With Furniture And Accessories Included as a Christmas present for our 3 year old granddaughter and she loves it. Never stopped playing with it.The box it arrives in is quite large, with everything flat packed and well packaged, it recommends a 2 person lift on the box, but I was able to lift and move it on my own.It took around 3 hours to build, although I'm fairly ok/good with DIY stuff, and there were a couple of points of the build that required my wife to hold some pieces in place until I had them screwed together.A nice touch of the build is that the heads of the screws are painted to match the colour of the piece they are screwing into, the downside being that since a lot of the screws are the same size and marked with the same letter you'll need to figure out which colour head screw to use based on the panel it's screwing into, or if you're not bothered it will probably save you 10 minutes of build time.All other pieces of the build are clearly labelled and I found the instructions easy to follow. There are also 2 plastic straps that attach to the back of the house that then attach to the wall to prevent the doll's house tipping over.The panels feel of good quality and are printed with the respective room or outside wall they are meant to represent when built and put together.If I was going to be super critical, there is no print on the back of the house, but you're not likely to see that when build as due to the height of the doll's means it is recommended to use the fittings to attach to a secure wall to prevent toppling.There is a good range of house furniture included and when built the house looks great. Our granddaughter is using it with the smaller Chelsea Barbie dolls, but it can also be used with the full size Barbie's.
