5.0 out of 5 stars Great rice!
I love basmati rice, and this one did not let me down. It cooks perfectly in my rice cooker and is flavorful and tender. Some brown rices I've had are not that flavorful but this one is aromatic and delicious. I haven't seen many husks, unlike many other brown rices. All in all, this is the best brown rice I've ever had.
4.0 out of 5 stars Aromatic and tasty brown rice, but we will eat less brown rice in general due to arsenic level concerns
According to consumer reports, rice grown in California has the lowest levels of arsenic, however brown rice has the highest levels of arsenic because of the higher concentrations in the bran or the rice. My family eats a lot of rice and the more I read about arsenic levels in rice the more concerned I became and I was happy to find out that there is rice available from areas that are fairly reliable when it comes to lower arsenic levels, but I remain concerned about the levels in all brown rices. Lundberg brown basmati rice has always been very tasty and aromatic but we will eat less of it, while I wait for more research to come out about the harmful effects of higher arsenic levels vs the benefits of brown over white rice. Lundberg more than any other rice grower has responded with concern and is doing their own research into lowering arsenic levels in the rice, which I appreciate as a consumer. I'm still giving this 4 stars because it is superior over other brands.Edit: I should mention that according to consumer reports Lundberg's brown rice has lower levels of arsenic than many other brands of white rice.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best Brown Rice
The very best flavor and texture.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is real Basmati Brown Rice
I had been getting Basmati Brown at the Chinese store by the 20 pound burlap bag until they stopped carrying it about 6 months ago. My fallback had been expensive Texmati from Walmart, but they stopped carrying it at about the same time. We've eaten only this rice as a staple for years now several times per week and use a Zojirushi cooker. In desparation, I got ripped off on the Bombay Basmati Brown from Bolo and it was not Basmati rice IMO, but brown mush ... plus, I thought it was a big bag for $17 but was a mere 2 pound bag (maybe my fault on that). That was the only rip-off from over 100 Bolo purchases and this is why I am writing this review. The Lundberg rice is as good as I've ever had taste-wise and smell-wise, the price is reasonable, and I like the 6 count of well-sealed 2 pound packages.
5.0 out of 5 stars Non-GMO Bismati Rice
I use Bismati rice with a lot of dishes because I like the flavor and texture. The grains stay separate rather than getting all stuck together like with starchy white rice. And because it has the bran type covering intact, it's a good source of fiber. I usually cook it in my rice cooker and it comes out perfect every time.
