5.0 out of 5 stars Great, versatile tea bags
These are great loose leaf tea bags at a great price. They are great for either a 16 oz cup of tea or a small pot of tea. If you want to brew only very small cups they would be a little large and are not big enough for an eight cup pot. They are perfect for anywhere between sixteen to thirty two ounces of tea. Also their size and shape makes them easy to fill. They are long so they do not easily fall into your cup and spill out into the water. The biggest complaint about small tea bags is you lose tea trying to fill them, no such problem here. They are certainly just as good as the expensive ones. In fact, I have some tea bags that cost $10 per hundred. After I put them side by side I did not know which was which. If you use only small, six ounce cups buy smaller bags. If you make only 48 oz of tea at a time buy bigger bags. Otherwise buy these. I will buy more when I use these up, probably in eight or ten months.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect solution for me
I enjoy loose leaf tea and have struggled to find the best method for years now. The infusers are a pain to clean no matter how "cute" they are, or how "easy" they are. The truth is that the little leaves get stuck in the little holes! I moved to a tea press, which was easier if only because I could brew an entire pot full of tea and only had to clean the screen once. Once was enough, too! Then I tried floating the leaves in my ceramic pot and just dealing with it. No one method of these was any good and I felt that it curtailed my desire to have the loose leaf that I enjoy so much. Then I ordered these bags... yes! I put what I need inside for either a pot or a large mug of tea, and I twist the top of the bag closed to prevent the mess that can sometimes occur. When I'm done steeping (once, sometimes twice) I simply slit or tear the bag open with my fingers and dump the wet leaves into our compost container. Now, we have loose leaf tea whenever we want. Great way to solve the dilemma and will be ordering again when the stash I got dwindles. Highly recommend these.
5.0 out of 5 stars Handy
I wound up using these to replace my French Press which was a pain to clean. No odor, very fine filtration (better than the press) and hold a lot of loose tea.The one thing I found is that it works best if I fold over the edge after adding the tea and staple it, so I left a small stapler in the draw next to the filter bags. I'm sure you can come up with your own way to do it so it's not a game changer, like folding the edge back on itself. So good I bought a four pack!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great loose leaf bags
These are some great tea bags. I don't have to pot boil my tea for my infusions. The water easily passes through the bag.
1.0 out of 5 stars Great bags, terrible service
I ordered 6 boxes for $36. Received only 2 in shipment. Contacted Bolo customer service by phone. Was told company would refund $36, but was then cut off before refund could be confirmed. I spent a lot of time to get to that point. Refund has not come through and won't unless I go through the whole process again. I know I can buy Rishi tea filters at Zingerman's, so that's mychoice frim now on. That's a company that knows how to please customers.
5.0 out of 5 stars WOW! What a Deal!!
I like loose tea, I just don't like chewing on leaves in my tea cup, or having to dispose of a bunch of loose, soggy leaves that seem to find every corner of my kitchen. However, I'm spoiled rotten and only like the flavor that comes with brewing loose tea. So I've been using these empty tea bags in order to make loose tea a lot less messy and just as convenient as bagged tea. Most bags of this type I've encountered are made in Europe and come with a price to match, and a single pack of 100 doesn't last a whole long time. When I saw this deal here on Bolo, I went for it.The bags look and work identically to the European made ones, although I believe these are made in India. (where they know a whole lot about making tea) But the price is about 2/3 less than that of the European made ones. I can't argue with that. (Well, I could argue with that, but I'm not a dope) That way, we can have the best tea on the market, which is sold loose, without the pain in the neck features of brewing loose tea with a tea ball or strainer. Just throw in the right amount of tea, tuck the top flap into the bag, and that's it. You now have a teabag of your favorite Kenyan Black tea (or whatever makes you happy) Throw away the neat little soggy bag when you're done - no mess at all.I've decided to get these on as a subscription, with a 6 pack arriving twice a year. That way, my family can have three cups or pots of tea each day (This size works for both), and maybe a few more on the weekend before running out. We've been using these bags for several months now, and are still as happy with them as we were when they arrived. If Bolo keeps offering these bags, I am sure we'll keep buying them!
4.0 out of 5 stars Tea tastes better than when it is brewed in a tea ball
Easy to open, with a range in size from one to 4 or more cups. You can put in as much tea as you like, which means you can really alter the concentration. Biodegradable means you can throw out the bag with the tea still in it on a compost heap or even in your own garden!
2.0 out of 5 stars Easily tear
I have used these tea bags for years. They used to stand up to the amount of tea I use. I make 4 cups of black tea with one bag. I noticed with the last order that they were tearing with little effort. They tear when I grab the bag to pull it out of the tea. Forget about squeezing them. They tear on the sides. Apparently the thickness of the bag has been modified. I will be looking for a different brand. Extremely disappointing that the integrity of the bag has been compromised.
