About this item:
Pappardelle is a term from the Tuscan dialect “pappare”, now widespread in all regions, designating wide pasta strips, served dry usually and preferably with game sauce. On the playful and figurative way sets a speech verbose, tedious and confusing. Porcino is the name of mushrooms very fine with large stems, with white meat of the smell and taste very pleasant. Were considered delicious food since the ancient Romans, often served at the table of the emperors in the Middle Ages and even of the popes. In Campania the mushrooms collected in the woods dell'Irpinia are considered among the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you really really enjoy great pasta...
Excellent imported pasta. I was going on a "guy's weekend" where I agreed to make a batch of my famous "gravy and meatballs" for my fishing buddies and wanted to have a special pasta for the meal planned. I would normally make my own fresh pasta but due to time limits that wasn't possible, so I turned to Bolo for an alternative. This product is great. Takes a little extra time to fully cook without overcooking, so it's important to make several taste tests after about 8 - 9 minutes of a brisk boil, but the finished product is superb. The "gravy" coats the pasta evenly and the pasta absorbs just enough of it to make a difference. The texture is perfect as it remains firm but yielding. I'm glad I ordered four bags, as I will be able to recreate this meal soon enough for my grown children.
5.0 out of 5 stars yummy Thick pasta

4.0 out of 5 stars Good taste, mouth-feel, texture
Pretty good! I was expecting egg noodles as that's what Papardelle is supposed to be according to the sources I've read, but this is not egg noodles. Despite that, it tastes quite good, has a good mouth-feel when cooked al dente, and has a good texture for sauces. It has just the right 'chew' to it without being gummy nor soggy. So while it wasn't exactly what I'd expected, we enjoyed it and will buy again.
5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS PASTA!
I bought the Garofalo brand a few years ago in California and really liked it but have not been able to find them anywhere where I live in Las Vegas. So glad I found them on Bolo because Garofalo noodles are truly excellent. I love the pappardelle for certain sauces but they're very difficult to find even in other brands. I prefer the Garofalo brand because they cook up perfectly and have a great flavor. The only downside is that the instructions say to cook for 8 minutes and at 8 minutes they're still uncooked. I gave them 12 minutes and that was perfect - al dente without being anywhere near soggy. Strongly suggest you test them at eight minutes and see what you think.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent when properly prepared
Excellent pasta, although certainly more costly than the respectable domestic products available at most US groceries. As for the debate among these reviews on the adequacy of the suggested 8 minute cooking time, my experience is that the 8 minute suggestion is "just right," although this pasta probably can tolerate the over-cooking advocated by some of the reviewers. Most lesser quality pasta would quickly become mushy or flacid if over-cooked, as seems to be the norm at all too many so-called Italian restaurants across the US and, perhaps, in most US home dining rooms. In my experience, at 8 minutes, this pasta is firm (i.e., toothsome and "al dente") without any sense of being raw. This is the temperature or doneness at which it should first be drained, then tossed with your already prepared sauce, then cooked for another 30 or 40 seconds or so in that sauce, and finally served. This isn't pasta for the kiddies (at least, not on my budget), but it is excellent high quality pasta for adults who enjoy the best. Nutritionally, it should be the same as any supermarket pasta. Its better taste, in my opinion, is strongly influenced by its mouth feel (i.e., its firmness and texture) when properly prepared. I'm sticking to the 8 minutes.
5.0 out of 5 stars but really good! I cook mine a bit longer because we ...
Not cheap, but really good! I cook mine a bit longer because we like tender pasta at my house. You will need to experiment when you first get this product. It says 8 minutes on the package (it is located on the pack in tiny letters on a read background if you're looking for it), but it wound up being longer. I sample a noodle periodically to test when I am cooking a pasta for the first time. I add a bit of salt and olive oil to the water to boost flavor. We serve with butter, garlic cheese and basil. Great side or as the main meal.
5.0 out of 5 stars Oh Papardelle!
Oh Papardelle! If you like papardelle you will love this one. It is delicious! I found I have to cook it longer than the package instructions - much longer. I recommend that you leave yourself extra time for cooking. If I cooked the pasta according to the package I would have served crunchy pasta. The flavor of this pasta is amazing - no, all pastas do not taste the same! You really can't go wrong with this pasta - it holds up to the thickest bolanaisa sauce, and was fantastic as a base under chicken Marsala. Be creative and enjoy!
