Excellent brush. I recently made the transition to safety razor shaving and this was recommended to me by an impeccable expert in the game. It is nice and stiff and drums up a nice lather. It has also held up very well without losing any bristles. Be sure to buy a stand with it to keep it functioning.

Don't let the "entry-level" moniker fool you. This is a supreme quality brush and a lather monster. Beautiful handle, excellent travel brush. Lather explodes from the brush.I have a full beard and the size is perfect for hitting my neck and cheek line.This is my second Simpsons brush (my first being the Chubby 2) and I think I feel a collection starting.

Great shaving brush, I bought it for my son and he said he's enjoyed using it. Probably the best value for a badger hair brush. He says he will never go back to aerosol shaving creams again. Works great for lifting the hairs from working in shaving soap for a better shave.

This is my first Simpson brush. I also have a pair of Semogue and Yaqi brushes. I mostly enjoy two band badger brushes since they offer a nice balance of backbone & comfort. This simpson best badger brush is certainly one of my favourite brushes now because it is fantastic for face lathering, especially with a shave stick such as Arko or Tabac (both are among my favorites).I had not planned this in advance but I now decided to make this brush my travel brush and got the matching simpson travel case (small). The brush fits perfectly in the case but this is certainly a premium brush so I won't be using it exclusively away from home. Such a nice performer to use in rotation and enjoy the simpson quality.This brush will give you the most luxurious lather on the road while exfoliating your skin to prepare for the fantastic shaves ahead! There's been some shedding with the first few shaves but I expect it to drop soon. I only used this brush a few times and am already in love with it. Tiny little monster of a performer! Will not disappoint!

Already being an owner of a synthetic offering from this vendor (Trafalgar 2), I was quite excited to receive my first badger Simpsons brush. I was disappointed with how it arrived.; there was a dent in the handle, and the knot had ~20 hairs set backward with the scritchy side up. There's a chance the hairs were intentionally placed like this, but not something I have experienced with any of my other badger brushes. Before this experience, I planned to buy a Chubby 2 from Simpsons but will likely avoid additional purchases considering the state of the 46 I received.More generally, this brush is on the small side and can hold just enough lather for three passes. If you're someone with larger hands, it may not be the greatest choice. In my opinion, wet shavers in North America have so many better artisan options to choose from: consider looking at Chisel & Hound, AP Shave Co, Declaration Grooming, or Stirling.

I have been using this brush for about 2 weeks now and I love it! I was previously using a brush from The Art of Shaving, which had an odor and the hair constantly fell out. The quality of this brush is amazing, feels great against the face, and has no odor. So far, I have not seen any hair fall out of this brush. I highly recommend for the amazing quality and price!

I kept my old brush for nearly twenty years. I didn't realize what a difference a new brush would make. Now I know. The Berkeley 46 is an ideal mid-range brush. Lathers quickly, spreads evenly, feels good, cleans quickly.
