The ball ships deflated. Once you inflate the ball, it is a standard, regulation rugby ball. My son loves it. It has become the team's favorite practice ball because of the wording and the great red and black color.Follow up: The team practiced with it nearly every day for one year of 15's season and the grip is now totally worn off! I have been requested to order another.

I wasn't sure I was getting the right thing since I am not the one who plays rugby but my son was VERY happy with it and said it was perfect. Shipping was as good as it could be with it being the Christmas holidays.

Gave this as gift to college girl rugby player. She said it was great quality with the perfect saying!Gilbert's are known for a good grip. When its wet you can still play with it and not drop it!

This is a nice ball to goof around with your display in your room, but for actual playing it doesn't have a great shape and doesn't hold its air real well. Ours needs aired up after a couple days each time. Not perfect, but pretty good ball overall for practicing or playing in your yard. Probably not something we would actually use for a game.

First off the ball shipped very quickly. It's held up to moderately heavy play. The red colour makes it difficult to lose which is very good, knowing me. Overall very pleased :).
