5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent taste and quality
This milk powder has less potassium than competing brands, better nutritional values overall. And it's produced in the famous dairy country of Holland, known for their exceptional cattle farms and dairy produce. The US branded products are full of potassium and I just don't trust excessive capitalism and it's influence on consumer goods in the US. This milk is indeed rich and creamy and taste great hot or cold, though I prefer mine hot with occasional chocolate melted in it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for traveling with toddlers who drink cow's milk!
I'm tickled with this milk in powder form! I've never tried powdered milk before, so I have nothing to compare to, in regards to taste, but I mixed some with cold bottled water and I love the taste! I'm not sure I'd know the difference between a regular glass of milk and this if I didn't know better. I bought it because my toddler recently switched from baby formula to cow's milk, and I missed being able to mix him a cup of his milk when we were out and about. It's not practical for me to carry a cooler bag with fresh milk all the time, just in case, especially in the summer heat. So with this amazing product I am back to carrying preportioned milk powder along with a cup with the correct amount of water to make milk for my little guy, on demand! He is not picky and will drink his milk cold, room temp, or warm. I also carry an empty cup so I can mix cold milk for him anytime I have access to cold water when it's hot outside. He doesn't notice any difference in this and his milk he enjoys at home. I LOVE that this is packaged in a can similar to cans baby formula comes in, (at least in the larger size I ordered), and as an added bonus, I can use a leftover, clean scoop we used when he was on formula, and ours measures the same as a tablespoon, the recommended measurement tool for this powdered milk. We mix this in the same ratio we did for his baby formula and get the perfect consistency. This also mixes easily and thoroughly, simply by shaking, unlike the hypoallergenic, expensive formula he was on for over 1.5 years! I'm considering getting the Baby Brezza back out and using this powder to make his milk at home!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good - yes, expensive - yes, for me - great!
I bought this based on others' reviews, and I have to say I am very pleased. My situation: I love milk, but don't need to drink it because I can never have just one glass, and my digestion is sensitive to milk. I'd be better off not buying milk at all but the problem is I love milk (or cream) in my coffee. I've got to have my coffee every day (with milk/cream) but I just don't care for non-dairy creamer. The problem: I can buy whole milk or half-n-half at the store for a great price, but I always end up drinking a lot of it, even the half-n-half. I just can't stay out of it. I've struggled with weight my entire life and although I can't blame milk for that, it does play a part. The solution: Powdered milk. I have no desire to drink powdered milk, even this stuff which, judging by the reviews, tastes great (it does taste great in my coffee.) Is it somewhat expensive? Yes it is, relatively. I bought the 900 gram can of Peak powdered milk about two months ago and still have a few weeks' worth left to go through (I would have even more if I hadn't used it to make hot cocoa a few times, which also tasted great.) I make a cup of it at a time and keep it in a hermetically sealing glass carafe in the fridge and it's been working out wonderfully.I'm going to get almost three months' use out of it, so that's around 6 dollars a month. Previously, I would buy half-gallons of whole milk at the store for around two bucks per, but I would end up drinking a lot of it and would go through a half-gallon a week so it works out about the same (or better) except I'm drinking a lot less milk. My digestion is a lot better and I've been losing weight (once again, not solely because of decreased milk consumption, but it sure helps.)I can't recommend it enough, but depending on your situation, your mileage may vary.
4.0 out of 5 stars Content is delicious but packaging got deformed so much
I'm not sure why customers keep getting a deformed can. But I received a very good expiry date yet also deformed can. I love Peak milk powder. Have ordered it before and it's still the same. Maybe its boxing...I would love to see my next order with bubble wraps/bags in the box before shipping. It will help avoid can deformity.
5.0 out of 5 stars Have used a few years - LOVE IT!
Just recently, husband wanted some of his canned mushroom soup, but had no fresh milk. Made it with this, after reconstituting it with water, and he said it was much better than when made with fresh milk. I have used it with mashed potatoes, milkshakes, and various other things. Always excellent, and love that it is made with whole milk!
5.0 out of 5 stars Three Ways I Use Peak Milk!
I buy regular fluid milk each week; I do not use this for drinking or cereal. I use Peak dry milk powder in three ways:I make homemade instant oatmeal packets with good quality instant rolled oats, a cube of brown sugar, dry apples or berries, and a few teaspoons of this milk powder. Add hot water and stir. Wonderful. I use these at home and while traveling.I use this milk powder in my coffee. I like my coffee fairly light. My half and half left my coffee too cold. I use this milk powder in my cup, pour my coffee over it. It is surprisingly good, rich, creamy, no weird aftertaste. There are powdered coffee creamer recipes online that you can make as well, but I use this plain, without sugar. Too expensive to put out at the office, but I keep a stash in my desk. Healthier than the powdered alternative at the store.Lastly, I use this milk when traveling. I am a coffee/tea snob. I like a cup of coffee immediately in the morning, in my PJs, in bed. I like a cup of tea with milk at night. I travel with a small electric kettle with my coffee and tea and this milk in small plastic bags (yes, it kind of looks like I am a drug runner, but I have never had TSA hassle me.) This milk dissolves completely and is good in both coffee and tea. I have also tried Nido brand powdered milk and it is good, but I prefer this. No comparison at all to the yucky nonfat stuff of my childhood. Thanks Peak for a great product!
