Brown basmati rice is my favorite kind of rice. And this brand is my favorite basmati rice.We cook frequently with basmati rice, and I've tried many brands. Some have been discarded even before cooking because the scent tells me whether it'll be good or not. Nutty gets a green light. Piney gets the trash because it tastes just as it smells, and it's not edible for us.This brand is consistently good. It's smells nutty and fresh when you open the bag, and it smells so good when it's cooking. It cooks up well without being clumpy or sticky.I do rinse it several times before cooking (standard practice for me with all rice that isn't supposed to be sticky when cooked).This is the best brand I've tried, and it's the only one I buy now.

I absolutely LOVE this brown basmati rice! I toast the dry rice in a skillet before cooking, which makes the rice taste and smell very similar to popcorn. I love making fried rice with this, as well as pilaf and rice pudding and it’s even good to eat just on its own with a little salt or soy sauce for a savory snack or with milk and a little vanilla and sweetener for a sweet snack or breakfast. It is well worth the price difference to get such an excellent organic product with lower concentrations of heavy metals than rice grown in other regions of the globe.

Great quality organic non-GMO rice cheap. Good flavor. Convenient packaging in 2lb bags that are easily resealable. Cooks reasonably fast, in about 15-20 minutes to be edible, 20-25 to be fully done. Great smell.

It was use by "July 2023". I purchased it on March 15th I have been trying to make it work since then to no avail. It tastes old with a funny, grainy texture. It also cooks up to a smaller size kernel than what I am used to. I have been using this product for 20 years so am quite sure something was wrong with it. Too late for a return. So now I give up and trash it! Too bad, I ordered six bags!

I find some of the bad reviews hard to believe. This Basmati rice is simply excellent. It is grown in califiornia and is really perfect all around. Don't hesitate to purchase it.
