Not using the plastic lid. I have so many cracked and broken plastic lids so I decided to invest in the silicone lids. I couldn't justify getting rid of all my perfectly fine glass containers simply because of the lids. The silicone lids are worth it! Many of the size options came in sets of 2, so I wanted a second glass bowl for the other silicone lid. This bowl arrived quickly and fits my needs. The plastic tops on these crack over time and you will have to replace them, even though I put them on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Hand wash the lids if you want them to last. These are just the right size tokeep leftovers, reheat in the microwave, and serve on the table.

I now have many different sizes of the Anchor Hocking containers and love them. They clean easily, don’t leak, and are great for transporting food to a pot luck or storing leftover. I decided to stop using plastic and feel better using glass. Great value at a good price.

This will prevent exploding chunks of food from splattering the inside of your microwave, and it will evenly distribute the heat in the bowl, and it will increase the steam pressure and temperature over the food, cooking it faster and potentially killing bacteria more effectively.Cook frozen dinners in these glass bowls, not in the plastic trays dinners are sold in, which can leach plastic into the food.

We love these containers. You can store in them, heat up food in them (don't put the lids in the microwave), eat out of them, everything. You just can't have enough of these. The only issue I have with them is the edges of the lids crack after awhile. It would be nice if it were easier to buy the lids separately. We had to buy directly from Anchor Hocking when we needed replacements.
