About this item:
The 835 Rosin Flux contains a type RA rosin-activated flux composed of pure Water White (WW) grade gum rosin. It is a unique solvent system that contains very effective activators. The superior fluxing remains consistent throughout the entire aeration process. The 835 provides fast wetting action and complies with all requirements for type ROM1 flux per J-STD-004. Application: The rosin flux is designed for leaded and lead-free chemistries. Excellent for prototyping and rework/repair on printed circuit boards. Works well on chip carriers, heat sinks, surface mounted device pads, switches, and sockets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shiny Almost blinding joints!
If you’re like me and thought “flux is all the same” think again! I work on repairing electronics as a hobby and used different types of fluxes as I generally went with what I could find at the time. Don’t pass over this! I put some in a small needle applicator bottle and on the first pad this stuff was incredible! The old solder instantly cleaned and wetting was almost instant and uniform! The resulting cleaning was a nice bright shiny pad and when soldering a new joint this stuff is incredible and does most of the work for you! Hands down my new choice if I ever use the entire bottle.Pros: extremely effective at cleaning. Easy application from needle applicator bottle.Bright shiny solid joints.Cons:Only thing is yes, it is quite sticky but that’s not a problem when cleaning with a little 91% alcohol and medical grade cotton tip applicator. It is a little thin and likes to run when applied but not too bad as you only need such a small bit to the joint/pad to do the job.I did have it “burn” and leave some brown residue around on 1-2 joints which was by fault really for letting the iron sit a little too long but cleaned up easily with alcohol and brush.Trust me, you won’t regret this flux!
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Economical Electrical Flux
The purpose of flux in soldering is to help clean away the oxides and impurities on the metal so that the solder will stick smoothly and reliably. Most electrical wire solder has flux in the core of the solder which is generally adequate if the metal surfaces to be soldered are bare and shiny clean. You need to use a flux like this if the solder has no flux or if the leads or surfaces to be soldered are a bit tarnished. Ideally you prepare the items to be soldered by cleaning and scraping them to clean bare metal before soldering. When you are working with older components and wires it is advisable after the initial prep to apply flux to the items to be soldered - typically I use a single small drop of flux from a small squeeze dropper bottle for a small wire connection. Then solder as normal. Part of the flux will boil away during the soldering and also clean the joint being soldered. After the soldering is complete I use a paper towel or tissue dampened with alcohol to remove the flux residue. The post-soldering cleaning is partly for a nice appearance and partly so you can see the state of the soldered joint - you want it to be smooth and shiny.I like the flux because it does a good job for electrical soldering (never, ever use acid flux or acid flux solder with electrical soldering). The flux makes it easier to solder slightly tarnished wire and components. And the flux has a minimal smell when soldering. The flux residue cleans up easily with rubbing alcohol. And this size bottle should last you a very long time - making it quite economical. I recommend dispensing the flux with a small plastic dropper bottle with a narrow spout.
4.0 out of 5 stars Works well to help solder to flow on heated metal
This stuff works well for soldering. I shouldn't complain about it being sticky because that's just how flux is.I bought some small polypropylene dropper bottles to decant the flux into, and they work well for what they are.I should probably wear nitrile gloves when using this stuff.
5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute finest rosin flux made in the world & The Nixie Clock!
Allow me to introduce myself. I am an emergency room critical care physician, I also wear many other hats. I repair drones as well as training in the hobby of flying Professional drones, not toy drones, I am referring to the $300.00 to $500.00 children type drones! Which thanks to these children "or more accurately" their parents. They are responsible for the soon to be leagaly mandated licensing! Prohibiting the flying of any kind of drone without possessing a license! By the F.A.A. With their violating the 500 foot flight ceiling limit enacted to protect passenger jets & and hundreds of lives (not to mention video recording in the windows of unsuspecting people!) I'm an F.C.C. licensed electronic bench technician and have been for 40 years. I have tried every possible flux on the market in the last four decades. And never have I used one with the properties and excellence of this product as far as what I have read from other people who have reviewed this product this problem of spillage & the stickiness is easily avoidable you only need to purchase this product here is the ASN number, if you do a search on Bolo it'll bring you right to the brand name Gaunt B00EXP082S it is a small I believe two ounce oval (important) bottle cuz round tends to tip over more easily where this one will not it comes with a 25 gauge very fine point needle. So that only one tiny drop will come out at a time as far as removing any spillage it's actually quite simple, use a mixture of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and paint thinner which can be had at any Home Depot department store. It will remove it from your hands, circuit boards or any application. No matter what you use it on, then wash your hands liberely with soap and hot water! And leave it clean and dry without any issue. I have found that using plastic brushes in the shape of a common tooth brush that have nylon bristles seem to work the best especially on circuit boards, I buy them for $3.99 a pack of four at any Walmart or sporting good store. they are also excellent for cleaning firearms! I do Highly!! recommend using a carbon charcoal ventilation fan to prevent inhaling any of the smoke from this product which I would say about most flux products. Don't buy what's commonly referred to as rubbing alcohol which is 70% which is inadaquet in any drug store you can buy 92% isopropyl alcohol and that is the alcohol you should mix with the paint thinner Walmart has the best price on that alcohol at $5.50 a quart in any case as far as wet ability, I have never used any kind of flux that created wet ability with typical 60/40 rosin core solder. As far as strong joints without cold solder joints I feel it is second to none! Electrical conductivity I have tested myself with a Fluke meter and it also is the best I've found to date. If you don't want any of this flux to ever spill on your workbench, that small plastic bottle that I mentioned earlier simply only fill it half way and if it falls over as it has on me dozens of times, not one drop Will leak out. If you are considering buying this flux trust me you'll never by any other brand. best wishes Dr. Thomas Contartesi F.A.C.C.P.S. I have no affiliation with the mg company nor have I been offered the test this product as some people are by Bolo.** the two photos are my latest work they are what's called a Nixie clock the tubes are manufactured in Russia in 1950 they operate on 170 volts a really cool and unbelievably accurate time piece they seem to be catching on in popularity within electronic circles, by no means would I recommend this kit for a beginner!! They keep time via GPS satellite and the LED's under each tube which is an RGB type can produce 256 different shades of color I've never seen a more accurate clock I checked it against my cell phone and it hasn't lost 15 seconds in a year it was fun building it but for those who might like one since they're kind of retro but yet modern this was the technology used by the whole world not just Russia and they were not the only ones that made these tubes they're very expensive but this was the predecessor of the LED this is what we used on all electronic equipment requiring alphanumerics. When the LED came out it was cheaper to manufacture and it seemed Russia had millions of these tubes in warehouses and not just Russia England Japan France and they're being bought up so fast you wouldn't believe it!! Mostly by companies selling kit's or assembled units, anyone that comes in my home the first thing they want to ask me when they see this Nixie clock is what the heck is that LOL.
Convninet to have delivered to door.
Works like a charm for desoldering. Made in Canad too!
very happy to find this on Amazon… hard to find in GVRD

Excellent when used in an appropriate way
I took a punt on this when getting a different GE flux - I don't normally use a liquid flux by prefer a gel. However, needing some solder paste for a quick job and only having a year-old opened tub which had turned mostly solid, I tried rejuvenating it with this flux. By jove, it works! As I recall, the paste was originally a bit dodgy (hence why it hasn't been used) and suffered smearing when heated. After treating with this flux it was really nice to apply, and flowed properly in the oven.Fluxed with success, instead of the nail varnish brush I was going to use I tried a syringe to apply the flux to SMD pads. Using the smallest-but-one (blue) tip, it worked very well. A tiny amount could be easily placed on a pad without it spreading everywhere, and there was no dripping or leaking like you get after squirting out gel. I think this is going to be my preferred flux and application method for most things, now.A plus point is that it has a rather nice sweet smell (it may be bad for you, but if you're going to sniff it you might as well enjoy it).One thing to watch is if you knock over the jar and spill it all over your bench, it takes forever and a LOT of IPA to clear up. It is very seriously sticky and could easily double as contact adhesive.
