Biotin is an unnumbered member of the water soluble B-complex family, normally only required in minute amounts. Biotin is used as a cofactor of enzymes involved in fatty acid metabolism, gluconeogenesis, and amino acid catabolism, and is essential in maintaining metabolic homeostasis. Biotin plays an important role in metabolic functioning as a coenzyme carrier of activated carbon dioxide in the TCA cycle (also known as the Krebs cycle). In its coenzyme form, biotin synthesizes glucose from non-carbohydrate sources, and synthesizes and breaks down certain fatty acids and amino acids.

I used this product with another multi vitamin which also had biotin but a way lesser amount. I didn't notice any changes to my hair or nails. I will admit that I did't use it everyday. My hair is slowly becoming thinner and more frizzy and just losing a lot of hair everyday. The pills are small and easy to swallow. It's a pretty decent price.. I took a star off just because I didn't notice any chances and I'm not sure it worked at all.

The dosage is an odd number, I went with the NOW supplements which I saw quicker results. If you take ANY Biotin product, keep in mind it can alter your thyroid lab numbers.

This has been helpful for me for hair regrowth after going through a period of hair loss. I had been hesitant to try biotin supplements because I heard higher doses could irritate skin, so I was looking for a lower dose.This supplement still has a decent amount of biotin but not so much that it irritates my skin. The pills are small and easy to take, and I haven't experienced any bad effects after taking these. My hair growth has increased a lot which I am thrilled about, since for a while I actually thought it was not possible to regrow hair in certain areas because it just wasn't growing.
