This is a surprisingly versatile jacket. I use this jacket in winter as an outer shell during the week. It blocks the wind completely, and keeps my body heat from escaping. With a base layer and a fleece jacket, this rain jacket provides sufficient warmth for temperatures down to about -5 Celsius. On colder days, I use a heavier wool base layer and feel warm down to -10 Celsius. I should mention that the hood is essential for warmth, as it blocks the wind from your head and prevents cold air from hitting your neck (it zips up quite high--up to my lower lip). When the temperature drops to -15 Celsius, I use a mid-layer jacket under this jacket and feel warm, though it is a tad bulky.During late fall, or early spring, this jacket provides sufficient warmth with a long sleeved shirt.Having said that, I cannot wear this jacket in summer during heavy rains for the exact reason that I become much too warm. But from late September to mid-May this my workday jacket and it has so far kept me warm and comfortable for the past 2 years.As an added bonus, it looks good and fits great. The hood zips up high to protect you, and with a neck warmer/scarf you will feel quite warm.For colder weather, you could wear a down jacket mid-layer, but for very cold weather (-30 Celsius) you should, of course,

Keeps me dry and comfy in Cleveland's wet climate. Not overly breathable but I guess that comes with the territory when you're trying to keep rain out.

I bought this because I was looking for a jacket that would double as a raincoat or a windbreaker to wear in the cooler spring / fall months as well as the summer months and this jacket fits that requirement perfectly. This Jacket is good looking, seemingly well made, sheds rain perfectly, not too noisy, and not too bulky. Since receiving the jacket it has kept me warm and dry on several rainy days and I have gotten several comments on how good it looks. I can't imagine finding something much better than this without spending well over $100 so for the price I certainly recommend this jacket. Word of advice, I would heed the recommendations of many of the reviewers here and look at buying a size larger than normal. I am 6' 2" and 210 lbs and an XL normally fits me very well. However, I went ahead and ordered a 2X and I am glad i did because the 2X in this jacket fits me great and leaves just enough room to layer a sweatshirt or a fleece vest underneath for warmth if needed. If no additional layering underneath is needed this jacket has just enough room to allow an unimpeded golf swing. If you are looking for a good rain jacket / windbreaker without having to shell out enough dough for a weeks worth of groceries then I highly recommend this jacket.

Helly Hansen has to be the only fashionable / 'hip' brands who offer, be it extremely hard to find in Europe, plus-size jackets for the fuller figured male. Their sizing chart does NOT correspond with normal / generic clothes sizes.I normally wear / order 3XL (56"-58" chest) jackets / sweaters / T-shirts etc., but with Helly Hansen I read online about their sizing differences. I must admit that, as my first choice, I searched hard & long to find a jacket by The North Face that would fit me but unfortunately TNF only markets it's products to those well within a healthy BMi index range!!! :-/So I luckily located this jacket in 5XL here on Bolo.com and took a chance that it would fit me. I placed my order on Oct. 23rd, it shipped from Hebron, KY, USA to Dublin, IRL arriving Nov. 1st via an unknown shipping carrier called i-Parcel. Now despite many horror stories on chat forum sites regarding a very poor delivery service, I was pleasantly surprised how quickly this jacket arrived.Finally,... how does the jacket fit? I can happily report that this 5XL sized jacket will very comfortably cover big boys who normally wear size 3XL. Arm stretching / reach is perfect. This is a waterproof windbreaker with hood, so a sweater underneath will be needed as temps drop and the fall / winter breezes blow. And yes, even with a thick sweater on, there is ample room fully zipped-up! ;-)

Die Jacke sitzt sehr gut (Größe L) und macht einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Bisher hat sie noch keinen Sturzregen aushalten müssen, sobald dies der Fall ist, werde ich berichten, ob sie auch dann dicht ist.
