Son uses them for volleyball. If you are want to slide a lot, they will wear fairly quickly, but they offer great padding for the occasional knee contact. With the lengths they don’t slip and hold position making them great for the more experience player.

Sizing:Much like the elbow/knee pad combo offered by McDavid, this is sized somewhat small. I think the critical part is measurement (see below).It is not actually the overall fit of the pad that is tight, but the thin band at the top and bottom of the pad sleeve. I made the mistake of measuring too low on my quad, and the result was a somewhat tight fit. The overall length of these pads sized large (sleeve included) is 16 inches. So make sure to measure 8 inches from the center of your knee to ensure you get the right size.Product:I am a huge fan of these compression sleve/hex pad combos. I can move around and sweat without the chaffing caused by traditional elastic or even neoprene pads. I feel the hex gives a greater range of motion as well. The padding is quite good, with a good bit of "squish" to it. The pad itself is quite large, and great for wraparound knee protection. I feel that there is plenty of padding top to bottom/left to right. I previously bought the Nike Combat Pro slider shorts (with integrated hex), but was disappointed with the thickness and coverage of the padding. These are a much better solution for impact protection.I can move around quite a lot and these pads stay in place. The only movement comes from it being sized a bit small, and the top part of the sleeve has a tendency to slide down a bit on my quad. I think you can comfortably order a "size up" and not worry about it going anywhere - the compression sleeve has plenty of stretch to it when putting it on, so I think there is plenty of leeway.Durability:I am not sure what the durability of the pads would be if exposed to dirt or any abrasion. My pads are purely for impact, and are underneath a layer of clothing. They have survived me and the washing machine!

I got these for basketball and am very happy with them. I typically wear tights under them as well so I can't speak to how they grip without tights, but even with tights on they stay up on my legs very well. I have gotten some off brand ones and they slip down constantly. These also will slide down and need to be pulled up, but it isn't nearly as often.They are very durable. I used to play a lot harder than I do now so I would seemingly always be on the ground diving for a ball or something and they would hold up to the abuse. Tights of any brand seem to rip very easily but these hold up a lot better. They will rip but not as easily as tights do. They aren't super breathable but since I wear tights it isn't really an issue with me. The pads are very flexible so you don't even notice them on when you're running.I have had several pairs of these over the years and am very happy with them. The price is a little higher than off brand versions but in this case you do get what you pay for. It's well worth the price and will absolutely buy them again when I wear through these.

Perfect fit for my Son who plays basketball. My Son added that when he gets his knees accidentally hit by other players...he does not feel the full impact rather his opponent does. Recommended for any youth athlete.

Recently purchased my THIRD pair of the 6446 Hex Leg Sleeve/pad. I know-- three stars, yet have purchased three pairs. All three have been used by my 12 year old son for AAU basketball- lots of aggressive play and a lot of time spent diving to or falling on hard floors. These pads do many things right- fit well, stay up, protect the knee cap (do not know if they would protect a shin as often pictured). However, the outer fabric just doesn't hold up. He wore the first two pairs for four games and two games respectively and BOTH tore badly. The outer layer of fabric opened up and the little hex pads tore away from the fabric backing basically rendering them useless for impact protection. At +/-$30/per on Bolo (and pretty much same price elsewhere), I would expect better performance and longer life.Unfortunately, they are still the most comfortable versions out there (12 year old opinion) and after seeing lots of other players on his and other teams fiddle with similar, non-McDavid versions, I am inclined to believe him.McDavid now makes a "double-layer" version, I assume in reaction to similar experiences to those we have had, but they are only available in black (against team uniform rules) and only in the shorter version, which my son finds much less comfortable and much less likely to stay "up" (not slipping down the leg).We have used McDavid equipment religiously for baseball for many years and never had a complaint- offered glowing reviews and repeated recommendations to other players, but these pads get a "purchase at your own risk" recommendation from me.

Wer einen guten Schoner sucht, der zumindest eine (Handball-) Saison hält wird enttäuscht.Den Schoner habe ich für meinen 10-jährigen Sohn in der Herbstferienpause gekauft, da der alte Schoner (aus Neopren) nun nach einem Jahr nicht mehr zu gebrauchen war.Der Schoner sitzt gut, rutscht nicht und polstert auch sehr gut, beim ersten Test waren mein Sohn und ich auch sehr zufrieden. Beim ersten "richtigen" Einsatz (Spiel) war dann schon das erste Loch im Stoff, nach einem Turnier ist der Schoner nun komplett im Eimer.Das riesen Problem ist die (in meinen Augen) viel zu dünne Stoffschicht, die die Hexforce Polsterung abdeckt. Ein-, zweimal richtig über den Hallenboden gerutscht und der Schoner ist kaputt.Fazit: Finger weg!!! Lieber wieder etwas mit Neopren, oder Teflon kaufen.
