5.0 out of 5 stars Solid motor
After a summer of use I can honestly say the 40 lb torque is a great motor. I use this on a 12 foot flat bottom aluminum boat. It’s has a nice low speed for trolling and plenty of power in the high speed. I’ll set the kids up on a paddle board tied to the back and rip them back and forth across the lake for hours on high speed and it’s never given me a problem.
5.0 out of 5 stars Gift for husband
My husband loves how quiet it is. It has a lot of power for something so small and quiet. He was impressed. Holding up well so far, and he isn't gentle with things.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Motor
Purchased this trolling motor to power my Intex Seafarer 4 inflatable. Plenty of power with 5 forward speeds and two reverse. Easy to use fairly light weight and easy adjustments to varying water depths. Smooth operation and silent running on electric power.
4.0 out of 5 stars Still learning how to use it
Easy to use. Wish the mount sat deeper on the transom. Significant vibration difference between speed four and speed five. Haven’t yet run on full battery charge so looking forward to seeing how long it will run. Good value for the money. Seems to be quality built.

Well built
I previously bought an Intex motor which is very similar in look and feel, however there the resemblance ends, the Intex gave up on day one, the Minn Kota we have had out several times and it's very good. I think we expected too much from it though, we thought it would run for miles at top speed, which given it's electric was stupid, it is what it says, it's a trolling motor designed to get you from one spot to another when fishing, if the motor is left running for prolonged periods there is a noticeable reduction in power, by prolonged I do mean about an hour. It doesn't replace a petrol outboard but it's surprisingly fast and quiet. We have it on an Intex Mariner 4 and it pushes the boat and four adults along no problem, and we now know to change to paddling occasionally to rest the motor and battery, it's a case of using it and finding out for yourself. We love it and would recommend it.

Prompt delivery and well packaged. An excellent quiet and clean electric motor which I mainly use for loch fishing.
So far so good
Delivery time very good - arrived well packed and in good order. Clearly a quality motor - I have used one of these before purchase so know that it does what it says - well, time will tell. I haven't given this a full five stars because on opening the packaging and reading the manual it says that a 60A circuit breaker should be fitted. The Minn Kota recommended part costs around £50!!! If this is essential to safe operation then it should be part of the supplied kit. I have a friend with a similar motor who thinks this must be a new recommendation as this was not suggested for his 55lb thrust version of the same motor. My intended solution is to fit a 60A in-line fuse holder which costs significantly less and should be a reasonable compromise. A bit annoying as this was not mentioned in any of the sales blurb.
