My husband and I found this sauce when on vacation in Monterey, CA in January 2024. We loved it so much we bought a bottle from the restaurant and took it home. We ended up going through the bottle so quickly (you can seriously put this on EVERYTHING) that we were excited when we found this on Bolo. We are now on our 2nd large bottle and tell everyone about this super yummy hot sauce.

Two friends of mine recommended Pepper Plant,and one sent me a sample kit! Tried it and fell in love with the Original! Got tired of ordering it 2 at a time so I kicked it up notch! I wish the would sell it by the Gallon!

I love this hot sauce. I used to live in a city right outside Gilroy (where the sauce is made) and could buy it at the grocery store. Now, living in another state, I don't have that luxury. Thank goodness for Bolo. I love this hot sauce. I have it literally every day on my eggs in the morning. It's great in tomato sauces, and even on pizza. The bottle has a recipe for pepper plant wings on the back and if you enjoy chicken wings, you won't be disappointed. Worth the $.

This is our favorite sauce ever--we put it on everything. It's the perfect balance of flavor and heat. Buying it in this jug is more economical and cuts down on our plastic waste (my husband and I go through a jug of this a year...so that's at least 3 bottles that are staying out of the landfill). Hugely recommended!

This is my go-to sauce. I use it to season ground beef instead of taco seasoning (healthier), on eggs and egg sandwiches, mixed with sour cream as a dip, as a marinade or on top of chicken breasts in a slow cooker…I use it all the time! Why else would I buy such a largeJug?! Everyone who I’ve had try it …loves it because it’s like no other hot sauce. The only somewhat negative comment I received from one person was they felt it was salty, but yet they said they liked it and wanted to get a bottle for themselves. It also keeps for a very long time in the fridge…literally up to a year! On the hotness scale - I’d say most hot sauce lovers would say it has a nice heat…not overpowering but definitely noticeable. If you’re not a fan of spicy - walk away. This sauce is for lovers of spicy food that can be consumed and enjoyed for it’s heat without running for a glass of milk!

It’s the best sauce ever, great on tacos. I believe the people complaining about the salt did not shake the bottle, it’s just fine if you shake it up before you use it.

If you want a hot sauce that will melt your face off - this isn't it. If you want a sauce with some heat and a lot of flavor, that melds well with lots of foods, and that you can easily use every day, this is your sauce. I don't know why the negative reviews claim it was super salty. It has a very present saltiness to it, but well within reason. When mixed with any food, the salt is not really perceptible. I wonder if maybe those people didn't shake the bottle? Because it does settle. And shaking a 1/2 gallon jug is a workout!Half a gallon might seem like overkill. Like who would consume that much hot sauce? A jug usually lasts me, by myself, about 4 to 6 months. It keeps well in the refrigerator. Really, though, I buy the 1/2 gal because paying $10 for a tiny 10oz. bottle is an absolute ripoff, when you can buy 6+ little bottles' worth for only a few dollars more. Do buy a small bottle first, though, to see if you like it, and more importantly to have a handy bottle to refill.The only other thing is that this isn't really a dipping sauce. But you can mix it with a small amount of mayonnaise, and it loses a bit of the heat, but keeps the flavor and overpowers the mayo, and that makes a decent dipping sauce.Overall, my favorite sauce. I'm on my third jug!
