I have known for years that the 'wings' on my window AC units needed repairing. I even had a few pieces of duct tape patching the holes. Finally remembered to order these BEFORE the hot weather hit. They're VERY easy to install. I took off the old ones and used them as a template to cut the new ones. I clamped the new ones as tightly as I could with crushing them and cut them with a fine toothed hacksaw. worked like a charm. Reinstalled them and they look perfect. Very pleased!!!!

Thes side panels were purchased to fill a 46" wide window. I had to retain the old panels because they are attached to the AC, aside from the fact that they were not tall enough to actually fill the sides of the window,because the A/C sits on a window support bracket. These did the trick, but they were a pain to cut. I ended up using a sharp pair of sissors, but it was almost impossible to keep a straight line. Because they were a pain to cut, I took off one star.

I intended to fill a gap with this that my portsble air conditioner's vertical piece wouldnt cover. It was on but not any better than say a piece of wood or something. I see that some people actusy used small screws for the edge. I cant do that for my space, so it didnt fit my needs. I used that foil insulstion tape to get it in place but it was kind of a pain to get it to stick to the rubber without it snaping back like an accordian.

It adheres well enough to the window and AC unit, but leaves accordion gaps at the top and bottom no matter how perfectly cut to size, and if you push on it you can just stick you whole hand through those gaps.

Item is very sturdy
It was a very good replacement item for the side panels on my air conditioner. Item is very sturdy. just needed to trim to fit and worked perfectly.
Easy to cut down to size
Needed to replace accordian panels in two window AC units. These worked beautifully. Both sides have adhesive but only needed to peel on one side - the other side slid easily into the tracks on each the side of the unit. Since we cut them ourselves, the fit is actually better than the original. Extremely satisfied.
Failure
complete waste if money, two face tape was not included with product. panels did not open enough to fill gaps on the side of unit.
