I have the driest curly hair. I’ve been happy with my conditioner I found. Now this wonderful curl gel. I highly recommend it. A friend got me to try it and it locks in the moisture.

I decided it would be best to review this product after using it for almost a month so I could see if this item is a total fail or not. First, the scent is a little strong and weird, but you get used to it after the third use. It is a little sticky (duh it’s gel!) but one small scoop with two fingers and it covers my whole hair! My hair is long and the jar is still to the top with one months use. It hold your curls or waves since it’s so lightweight. When I received this piece it came wrapped in a small plastic bag and some product was covering the jar so that was disappointing, but other than that I do enjoy this product a lot.

Keeps my curls defined and helps limit frizz. I had to dip my fingers in it about 4 times so it takes a lot. It has a cast but i like that because it lasts longer then i scrunch it out with an oil. Overall I feel like pairing it with a mousse and using less would give fantastic results!! It’s also not too drying but ofc use a leave in or curl cream under.

I like to use this on my hair on wash days to shape my curls. It has a firm hold and is easy to apply to my hair when it’s wet. I love the way it smells too. Since my hair is short, the 8 ounce jar lasts me a while.

I purchase As I Am products after watching a number of You Tube videos and Bolo customer reviews. I had my doubts but after all the reviews I decided to take a chance on this product. I wish I had stuck with my doubts. I am a licensed cosmetologist and my experience may not be the same for others; however my experience is worse than I could imagine especially using this products on natural hair and unprocessed hair. After see a number of videos what convinced me was this product was suppose to have a lot of slick to it and was suppose to bring out ones natural curl. So I went with it because my hair is wavy and curl. Before trying As I Am I maintenance my hair with wave nouveau finishing lotion. Been using that for years and it works well for me. It brings out my natural wave and curl, very defining. My waves and curls is the first thing people notice about my hair. Receive compliments on my waves and curl everyday all day and all I do is use wave nouveau finishing lotion and pull my hair back in a ponytail or single braid because I don't like hair in my face. Due to the texture of my hair I did not expect any problems with As I Am. Well I followed all the instructions as far as washing and leave in conditioner and part my hair as suggested in four sections, I precede to apply the curly jelly on smaller sections of my hair with my finger. I kept finger combing as the waves and curls appeared till my whole head was completed. I twisted the hair as suggested and I was noticing this jelly was not as slick as they said. Also as my hair dried it was very dull and dry looking. Not what I was expecting. My scalp and face started to itch but I thought nothing of it until it started to get worse. When I took my hair loose from the twist my hair was a mess. My hair looked nothing like it usually do when I wash it and activate it. I tried putting oil on it as suggested by reviewers but my hair continue to be dry to the point my scalp became sore and my face and scalp felt like a burning sensation. My hair was tangled and frizzy which this product was suppose to prevent that. Having to leave out that morning the only thing I could think to do at the last minute was to put the wave nouveau finishing lotion on which moisturizer my hair, soothed my scalp though my face still have a burning sensation from the As I Am product. The wave nouveau also produced my waves and curls back to my hair and I received a lot of compliments on my hair that day that I would not have received had I left my hair in the bad state that the As I Am product had left. That product dried my hair out so bad that it even affected the wave nouveau because my hair had dried out by the time I got home and when I tried to comb my hair it was so tangled I had to get a detangler to comb through my hair because my hair was combing out in the comb. So I immediately called Bolo to return the product because it was no way I was going to continue with this product. I have never had an experience like this before with any product that is why I know for a fact it was the result of the As I Am product. As I write this review since I reapplied more wave nouveau my scalp is less sore to the touch but my face still have a burning sensation across my forehead and both sides of my face. I hope I don't have to make an appointment with the doctor. So I would not recommend this product for myself and it's a chance others would have to take if you feel this product is going to produce the results you hope for your hair. I have no confidence in it. You would have to have very oily hair for this product not do to you as it did for me. So if your hair is dry I would not recommend it. If your hair is a little oily you may regret it.
