The 3M 5000 Series Half Facepiece Disposable Organic Vapor Respirator Assembly helps provide respiratory protection against certain airborne contaminants. This respirator is NIOSH approved for respiratory protection against certain organic vapors up to ten times the permissible exposure limit (PEL). Half Facepiece respirator may be used in a variety of workplace applications, including petrochemical, chemical manufacturing, construction, transportation, and electronics. This disposable respirator assembly offers greater convenience by reducing the need for long-term maintenance. This half facepiece respirator is an ideal choice for intermittent use.
NIOSH, a Federal government regulatory agency, has tested and approved the 5000 Series to help reduce breathing certain airborne contaminants. The cartridge installed in this respirator assembly has been assigned the NIOSH color code of “Black.” This respiratory protection system is not for use in environments that are immediately dangerous to life or health (IDLH).

I recently just got pregnant and Im a nail tech. I ordered this mask but never tried It before I reached my client. I didn’t read instructions before using but i figured it’s self explanatory and easy to use. Which it was. I put it on in 10 seconds and it was great. The comfort wasn’t the best but it’s probably cause I tightened It too much and didn’t wanna take any risks of inhaling fumes. Breathing wise inside the mask is very comfortable. I smelled nothing at all with this mask. I took it off for a second to test and smelled the fumes so put It right back on. Highly recommend It if you are trying to protect your lungs from acetone or monomer.

When contaminants include vapors when in enclosed areas and or when in contact with concentrated products ( not yet dilute or applied at higher concentrations) you will find that 3 M provides an effective filtering, ease of use and reliability. A true industry standard. Ensure that you get a good fit or effectiveness can be dramatically y reduced. Not too loose, not too tight. Snug Goldilocks fit!

I don't have much to compare to since I've never used this type of mask but I purchased it to do some work in the Attic. Using the regular disposable face masks just did not cut it. This did a much better job of helping me walk around and breathe in a very dusty area. Especially considering there was potential rodent or bat droppings that I had to clean up and I did not want to breathe that in. I only complaint was it was not as comfortable as I'd like on my nose which is probably bigger than most people. But it wasn't extremely uncomfortable so I was able to tolerate it for an hour while I did the clean up

I use this when I dump gasoline everywhere working on a fuel injection system. Just can't take the fumes. Wearing this mask I don't even notice. Same with spray paint. I usually replace them when I begin to smell the odors again. On a side note, I wore this mask for a few hours in the spring time without noticing. I took it off, and I could instantly smell the trees, the flowers, the grass, the pollen. It's like I got intense smell-o-vision. Interesting effect!

Fantastic Mask, Have used it many times
I use to use one of these respirators in my drug synthesis laboratory when dealing with silica. At the time, this mask handled it perfectly. I've used this mask in biology laboratories for handling biohazardous chemicals. The mask handled it perfectly. Now I've most recently purchased one of these masks for my own polyester resin project. And it handled this perfectly as well. In all three scenarios, the mask was very successful at filtering out the hazardous material. In fact, despite the high volatility of the polyester resin I was using, I could smell none of it when wearing the mask. In fact, the scent was stronger when I left the resin area and I was able to smell it on my clothes more than I ever could in the mask. The mask itself has really great straps for securing the mask to your face, creating an airtight seal. The mask itself is also of a great quality, being very durable and comfortable to wear. Overall, this is a very high quality mask that both professionals and everyday craftsmen can and should use. Also the price is also great.Just one word of caution. Please use the appropriate filter types. This specific one carries a filter to be used with volatile chemicals like polyester resin. There are other filters more suited to purposes of fibreglass, biohazardous materials, etc. Make sure you purchase the correct filter for the mask as well as the correct filter for the application. This will ensure that you not only make the best use of the mask but also keep you safe in whatever scenario you find yourself in.
I can breath much better with this on than with a small n95 mask.
This mask is awesome. I have allergies and I use it all the time around the house. I am allergic to dogs, but I have a dog. So I use it whenever to groom my dog or clean very dusty things. It works great and is much more comfortable than a small n95 mask which is not comfortable with a big nose like mine. I can breath like I am not even wearing anything with this thing on and conforms to my face very well.

Comfortable and Effective
I use this on my compact tractor. For some reason the tractor manufacturers designed the exhaust to point to the ground... rather than straight up in the air like on bigger tractors. Consequently, when I get off the tractor to switch from bucket to pallet forks, or fasten a skid line... I'm fumigated... it was so bad that at the end of the day my lungs were messed up... headaches, etc. I bought this, wear it a lot... slips off easy and hangs around your neck when not in use.
There are no filter pads or plastic covers for these You have to buy them separately
They should be including the filter pads and plastic covers so you can you them right away
