Tackle most any smoothing and blending job involving charcoal, pastel and graphite with Derwent Paper Stumps. Made from compressed rice paper, their intricate points are more accurate than your finger, and rice paper's smooth surface ensures a polished finish. Points range from 5.5mm to 10.5mm. They can be easily cleaned and re-pointed using sandpaper.

I went ahead and got them and must say they are very nice. They are much softer than most other stumps out there, but it is actually in a very nice way. They hold their shape well and blend very nicely. They also hold quite a bit of material and can be used as a drawing tool much more effectively than most harder stumps. If you are very heavy handed (I tend to be at times!), they may initially seem a bit too soft, but after getting used to them and the pressure required you should be able to use them very effectively.

There are three different sizes which really helps. Hard to find the smallest. Tightly wrapped so work well. Would recommend. Can be given as a gift. .
