5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to set up
We watched a video online but it was actually very easy to set up. We love it. We put all 3 batteries in it so we won’t have to deal with i for 5 years! It’ll change the time automatically 2 times a year for daylight/standard time. Since it’s up high in our kitchen this is a real effort saver. No more ladders! It’s very attractive, just the right size and easy to read.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love the atomic clock auto setting!
Does exactly what I had hoped. After installing 3 AA batteries, set my timezone and DST setting, this immediately set itself to the correct time. It's large enough and easy to read across the room, and looks good next to the other wall decorations. I like that it has 2 extra battery slots to extend the battery life to an advertised 5 years. Also, I like that it's quiet! This is replacing a different wall clock that had a noticeable "tick" as the seconds hand moved. In contrast, I cannot hear this clock at all.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works in Massachusetts
In my initial encounter with this clock, I encountered a minor setback—upon inserting the batteries, I expected an immediate synchronization of time, only to find myself momentarily frustrated. Speculating that the signal reception in Massachusetts might be weak, I resorted to an app on my phone that skillfully simulated the time signal, proving to be an effective interim solution. Despite initial disappointment regarding the signal strength, the clock's remarkable precision remained a source of contentment.A few days later, the turning point arrived as daylight savings time transitioned, and to my surprise, the clock seamlessly self-adjusted to the correct time. It dawned on me that the signal reception had been functioning adequately all along—I simply needed to exercise patience! Since then, the signal synchronization has been impeccable, consistently rendering the time with unwavering accuracy, down to the very second, each time I glance at it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Big fan of atomic wall clocks. VERY convenient.
I'm a big fan of atomic wall clocks. This is the second one I've purchased. (Different brands.) First one is in the kitchen and, if I get on my tippy toes, I can just reach it change the battery. I can't, however, hang it back up without a step stool. Not having to change it twice a year or adjust it is great! This one is going into the dining room as it's a bit dressier.Don't get wedded to the idea that you need to set this clock on the closest side of the house to WWVB though. In my house that'd be to the West, but on the West side of the house it can't get a good enough signal to set for the first time. The West side is heavily forested and there are high tension power lines a few blocks away, both disrupt a good signal. After it's set it's good to go, just try different locations in your home before you give up. It's also easier to set after the sun goes down as the signal is stronger at night with less interference from the Ionosphere. For grins and giggles I grabbed the other clock and this one and put them side by side. Both clocks synched down to the second. A good sign - grin!
4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish and accurate
The clock is nice and keeps good time, it does take a while to set.
5.0 out of 5 stars A nice fresh look!
We had gotten atomic clock 25 years ago when we built our house and finally it was time to replace it. This La Crosse atomic clock is great! It was easy to set up. It said it may take a while to adjust to our time zone but within a few min it was done and working great. It makes no noise and so easy to see with the large numbers. As we get a little older it dose make a differance lol. Plus we put in the extra batteries so we won't have to change them for several years now. We are very please with our new La Crosse atomic clock.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nic, basic, atomic control linked clock
There is an option to use only one battery, which you replace yearly, or use 3 batteries and only have to replace them every three years. I just continued with my practice of replacing the one battery every spring. I would have liked to have had the option of a simulated wood grain finish rather that the plain black "Modern" look. But that is my only complaint. Overall, a nice clock at a good price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps perfect time
The thick glass has a lot of glare so I easily removed it. I bought this clock for my son. I have had the same clock for 4 years now on the same batteries. It has a very strong built-in receiver for automatically setting the time. I have not touched the clock since I hung it on the wall 4 years ago. This clock keeps perfect time to the second. Easy to read even in very low light at any angle. Very quiet running!
Funciona y se autoajusta correctamente.
Como en la foto y trabajando de manera correcta.
Check WWVB coverage before purchase
Some reviews commented on unable to automatically update the time. I recommend using a web browser and searching for 'wwvb coverage map' (without the quotes of course) before you purchase this item. Clearly a large portion of northern and north eastern Canada are not covered by this transmitted signal. Also as one moves further from Colorado, ensure the clock front or back faces (approximately) toward Colorado. I reside in North Okanagan BC and first placed the clock on a north exterior wall. This resulted in unable to automatically updating the time. When I reread the manual, I realized my error and moved the clock location to an east facing wall. Within 5 minutes the clock moved to the correct time and has tracked WWVB accurately ever since. I appreciate the ease of installation and elegant look of this clock. I really value the fact, although I spend most of my day at my desktop, I did not need to install an app and have yet another icon or programme on my computer. Even opening the task bar is a PITA (often hidden by numerous open applications), when all I do now is simply turn my head and look at the time. Time will tell if the battery life reaches the expected 5 years as stated in the manual. But I'll be happy to change 3 AA batteries every 3 years.
Not for UK users
Why sell this in the UK when it’s not suitable. Stupid waste of time
Great atomic clock that I feel looks good & is easy to read. Might purchase another!
This is a simple clock with clean looks. It may not appeal to everyone, but it suits the room in the house where I have it hung. Best part is I don't ever have to worry about setting this clock. Atomic clocks were meant for lazy people like me who take a month or two to set the time twice a year. I find the clock is large enough to read across the room without it being too large. The font is clear & crisp. I'm happy with it - hopefully the quality of this La Crosse clock is better than the quality of their weather stations.
Es lo esperado
Monterrey. Jala bien.
