This cuckoo clock has a typical Black Forest house with a sloping shingled roof. The wood cutter chops his wood in time to the cuckoo call which is once on the half hour and on the full hour according to the time. Two alternating melodies - Edelweiss and Happy Wanderer - play every hour while the water wheel turns and the figurines wearing the Black Forest costume dance around to the music. The clock is personally signed at the back by the manufacturer Adolf Herr . His signature guarantees the experience of 7 generations of clock-workmanship. This clock comes with a certificate of authenticity (AHC). Clock Movement: 8-Day(weekly wind-up) Regula rack strike movement with night off. Clock-Face: HerrZeit Wooden dial, diameter 4 Inch (10 cm), with wooden hands. Dancing Figurines: Handcarved and handpainted wooden couples in Black Forest costume. Pendulum: HerrZeit bolt pendulum with fine adjustment. Musical Movement: musical movment (22 tones) with two different melodies (Edelweiß & The Happy Wanderer). We lived on the edge of the Black Forest area when I was in the military stationed in Germany. Our daughter recently was talking about the the German cuckoo clocks. As a surprise for her birthday , we purchased this clock. She loves the clock in her house. The detail in wood work is intricate and the figurines are very detailed. The clock mechanism is traditional. The cost is not cheap but you pay for authenticity and quality. Years ago we used to have a baby cuckoo clock that my wife loved but it was destroyed in one of overseas moves. We decided not to replace it and keep the memories of the children watching it. These were great times. I hope you enjoy the clock.

Adolf Herr at least for this clock did an outstanding job in his design. I can't say enough about the details and quality of Workmanship. He put a lot of time in making this clock. Outstanding and high quality.
