5.0 out of 5 stars good value
These work well for me. I use them on boats to run network cables. The red matched the theme of the boat perfectly, as some of the network cables to the graphs were exposed. That's a lot of cable for the money. I would definitely buy it again if I needed it again.
5.0 out of 5 stars ... the low voltage trade where big names (and price) like Commscope and Belden are prevalent
I work in the low voltage trade where big names (and price) like Commscope and Belden are prevalent, So I had some trepidation about this cable/price. But for small projects this is a great product for the price. I read negative comments before making a purchase decision. The most common negative review I saw was difficulty distinguishing wire color differences. Not an issue in my experience; greens and blues were clearly discernible. Also comments about kinking and binding. Again, not an issue; cable flowed freely off the reel. If you are in need of a cable that needs to be certified, you may need to additional research on your own. But for small projects where you just need the cable to work, this product is fine. My project consisted of cables runs for installing security cameras in my house. Three runs of 125'. No issues with the cable runs -- terminated and tested fine -- and no issues with the performance of the cameras.
4.0 out of 5 stars It does the job at the price you pay
For the money the cable is decent. It doesn't pull out of the box as nicely as other cable I have worked with in the past. I had a 307 foot pull with this cable and it passed testing for me. You need to be very careful and make sure the cable does not come out twisted or not you don't damage it. I had another person watched the box and assisted if it was getting snagged. The cable is a little flimsy to jacket on it is very thin. For under $50, the cable gets the job done just fine.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good wire
Strong wire
5.0 out of 5 stars Good and Inexpensive
If you are wanting the best possible performance for copper twisted pair, then you probably should be looking at CAT6. But if you are running telephone or wired internet for a SOHO, this spool of CAT 5e should fit your needs and your budget. As you weigh your options, you need to consider the application and what you are connecting together with UTP. Keep in mind that while home and Small office switches now support gigabit interfaces, many of these devices do not have the capacity to sustain that level of data transfer. You can pay much more for one that does, then pay more for the Cat 6 cables. But I personally would doubt the average user would notice substantially greater benefit from the significant expense.
3.0 out of 5 stars Pay attention to the sheathing!
For the most part this cable has been fine I would never use it in a production environment but at home it will work. The biggest problem I have is that I found to places where the outer sheath was damaged coming out of the box not only was there a cut in the cable, but it was about 100ft into the box and the wires inside were mangled. If you are doing short runs and looking for a cheap option, this is fine, but I would never install in a business.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fully functional and cost effective
A lot of reviews complain about kinking and breaking. It does seem prone to kinking and that could lead to breaks but if you aren’t in a hurry and take it slow and keep an eye on the roll then it isn’t an issue. The aluminum wires were a bit different to handle than copper but I had no problems makes good cables even with my household quality crimper.
1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn’t work.
Thought I would try this cheaper cable out… don’t waste your time. Doing some POE cameras and the first pull off the box worked….. EVERY pull over than the 1st one did not work. This cable is junk and has all kinds of kinks and scuffs on the jacket RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. Just buy comscope, save your hard earned money.
Good Value for the price
Not the right colour for my scheme but worth it for the savings. Good quality wire and thick jacketing. Perfect for home networking or interior CCTV POE cameras.
great quality
exactly as expected
Excellent Value for money!
I have almost used up an entire 1000ft of this cable at different locations. I use it to install computers in collision/body shops. Most runs are well over 100ft, around large electrical equipment like spray ovens and compressors etc. Pulls straight from the box without kinks or knots. I have had no issues with this cable, fast speeds, some100MB connections, with no disconnection or spotty performance. For home use I can't see why you would need to spend any more money. I have just ordered my second 1000ft box.
Decent cable a bunch of snags
Cable works fine, no testing errors.Only issue is that in the first 100 feet it snags a bunch when pulling.Probably because the box is small and the opening is small
Does a great job
Nice solid core cable, no issues with pass through connectors. Just make sure they are good quality like BeBe. I bought two other types locally , one was terrible and the other name brand expensive and again not great.
