Update: I first purchased this in November of 2023, and have only had to buy a new bottle once. Just a little foams up beautifully, and the shampoo itself lets me go 3-4 days between hair washing so one bottle lasts a good long while. I haven't had any major issues with dryness, but I apply a protein mask to my hair ends once a month.Most importantly, I have MCAS, and my immune system often reacts to shampoo once I've used it enough times, but I haven't had that issue with this shampoo. It doesn't trigger any reactions, and it's soothed my itchy scalp. I'm sold. I won't need any other shampoo.I'm disabled, and I'm often bed bound, or I don't have the ability to wash my hair (can wash myself but not my hair), leading to long days between showers, which leads to greasy hair that makes my scalp a nightmare of itching.I've tried a lot of shampoos, and all of them were "clarifying" or simply "invigorating," or they have Sodium Laurel Sulfate- which I'm horribly allergic to. I was close to simply buzzing my hair out of desperation, and to ease things for me- this shampoo was literally one of my last two options. I waited a few weeks to see how it worked, and I am so glad I ordered it.This shampoo has let me go up to 3-4 days between washes, and it's eased the itching of my scalp. My hair is soft, manageable, and doesn't get as greasy as quickly.It has a very herbal scent, which some people might not like, but I love it. It smells fresh and clean and almost reminds me of a rainy forest morning. Also, despite the lack of SLS, it still lathers up well enough, and I haven't needed conditioner afterwards.It's a bit pricey, but I will continue to get this shampoo, because it's increased my quality of life in the hygiene department!

So I have been moving away from all products that arent natural for sometime and have loved the results. However, my head is so oily that even after using only natural stuff and no extra product, it was still gross the very next day. I am not a 2 day hair person, tho I would love to be, unless the 2nd day it is in a pony tail. And even then you can tell. So I researched and found this. I mean, its straight up, in your face called DEGREASE! That must be for me! And the reviews were great as well, so I gave it a try. I am currently well into my 2nd bottle, the larger one this time after initially trying the small bottle. This stuff is pretty great. The first time I used it I scrubbed my head, rinsed then repeated, omg it felt SO much better. I pair this with the Silk 18 conditioner just on the length of my hair, occassionally just skimming my hands over the surface of my hair on my head if it feels dry, just barely making contact. That stuff is also pretty amazing. Since I have been using it, I can go every other day without washing my hair without it being nasty. It still produces oil and isnt fabulous 2nd day hair like some lucky lasses out there but its better than its ever been. My scalp feels better also, its not oily or caked with sebum. I now only wash my hair once, rubbing vigourously in my scalp with my finger tips and letting it sit a bit while I wash my face. The only time I do the "rinse and repeat" (cause who has time in the AM before work??) Is when I have gone a couple days without washing my hair and it feels extra built up, I wash twice to cut through the grease (ugh, seriously cant stand that word when referring to my own physical self) and my hair is back to awesome. With the silk 18 my hair feels clean, light (not bogged down with oils) and silky soft. It also lies nicely, where it should without excess frizz and it air dries nicely. I live in central FL, humidity is in all captial letters here most of the year, I noticed when I use these 2 products and let my hair air dry it still looks amazing, not derranged and out of control or shell shocked. I definitely recommend using both the Degrease and Silk18 together because the degrease can be drying on the length of your hair, but the Silk makes it like it never happened. I think both products smell really nice. I love it. But I love the smell of clean versus fruity/flowery/omgIamchokingwheneverImovemyhead. It leaves my hair smelling really nice but subtle and best of all, feeling great. Do yourself a favor and just give it a try, use it how it states to begin with then do what you feel your hair needs after that. Best thing is with both the shampoo and conditioner, it doesn't take gobs of the product to work. My hair is to the middle of my back and though it is fine, it is thick. This stuff does the job.

When it came, there was shampoo in the bag. There wasn't a safety seal & it looked used like there was obvious usage through the pour cap. I'm not thrilled about that at all. So minus 1 star for that. I should have taken a picture of how sloppy it looked but I wanted to clean it up & be done. For almost $10 for 8oz, I'm upset about how it was sent!I do order my Chi shampoo from Bolo & it always comes sealed & wrapped.The first use seemed like it was hard to get it to lather. It seemed like it was drying my hair as I tried to wash it. I've never used anything like this before so maybe this is normal?? I used it twice so far. The second time I used it seemed a little easier but I did use a little more this time.It does seem to make my hair feel less oily. I usually use Chi exfoliating shampoo which helped for quite some time. I have heard that you'll need to change shampoos after using for a while because your hair gets used to it.I did get my hair highlighted the day before it was delivered. I am relieved that it's safe for color treated hair. It actually made my highlights better looking!Over all, so far it's making my hair feel better. I'm able to go longer without washing my hair. I had to start washing it every other day, sometimes every day with my Chi shampoo. I have been now every other day...it may get even better. I'll try to remember to update y'all. If I choose to stick with this product, I hope it comes not used next time. I saw tons of great reviews on this, that's why I got it.If it came properly sealed or at least not used, I'd probably give it 5 stars.
Great for fine, oily hair!
So despite the fact that I am a woman in her early forties, I still have very oily skin and hair. My entire life I have tried many things to help this, and many shampoos to help this. However, this is the first shampoo that I noticed actually makes a difference. I use it about once a week or once every two weeks and it always extends the life of my hair between shampoos. I don't know how, but it does. It does have a very strong smell, kind of like an evergreen forest, but I did notice it is not as strong in the most recent bottle I purchased. Anyways, for what it's worth, it works on my very fine, long, straight oily hair, and my daughter's.

Only suitable for oily scalp
I have combination (dry sensitive and oily) scalp and this caused my scalp and hair to be super dry. And in turn causes my hair to drop even more. On the other hand, my partner has oily scalp only, and he said it combat his scalp condition.
