The Wizard is a great high altitude rocket for beginners, schools, clubs and rocket demonstrations. Regardless if you're a beginner or pro, the Wizard promises hours of flying magic! WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, carpenter’s glue, modeling knife, masking tape, clear tape, plastic cement, white primer, and blue paint. (Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included). WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).

Easy to build as a first timer. For my first go at model rockets for the Cub Scout Pack, this was the best choice by far. Easier to build than I thought. A little overwhelming at first but as you go along it gets much easier. I built 2 and by the second I was like a pro. The rocket has the potential to go very very high. It all depends on the engine size and the construction. As long as the fins are correctly mounted and the engine spacer ring is glued in properly, then this thing has the potential to go every bit of 1000 feet easily. Great first rocket to do with children and the price is worth it as compared to some other inexpensive options that are very cheap grade. Highly recommend!!!!!

Easy to assemble, except for the fins. Used these for my fifth graders. There are best for middle school and above.

Fins, body tube, nosecone and a streamer. The small body tube really wants a thin Kevlar shock cord around the motor block instead of the included rubber shock cord, it'll make packing the steamer much easier, but otherwise a great value box.

Used two of these packs for y 5/6th Gr. class. I assembled the lower portion using the Estes fin jig and then had the students assemble everything else. That was enough difficulty for their level to ensure everything was properly installed. Rockets did awesome too! Great for class projects! Used A8-3 engines.

No parachute.. the parachute is a big part of the fun. The fins proved very hard to glue on and frustrated the kids( 3-4th graders). Better to get the kit with pre made plastic fins.. there is still enough for the kids to do securing the parachute and installing the engine.

Nice kit for kids
Excellent kit for a group build. Just one comment, don't use CA glue with kids, simple white or carpenter glue is fine you just have to take more time and it's fine. Just finished building 12 of them with a group of 10-12 years old and all rockets flew perfectly well !
Got charged duty.
Was charged 14% duty but there was no mention of this at time of purchase. Would not have bought otherwise, since was under impression the item was being shipped from within Canada. Item is as described however.
