This is hands down the best ice cream scoop out there. It uses your hand warmth to warm the scoop. I have had mine for over a year and love it. I just recently had to buy a new one because my husband accidentally put it in the dishwasher, but it wasn't the end of the world because it only costs $10 to replace.

To be honest, I had my doubts about this little scoop. It is filled with anti-freeze, and so requires special handling, can not be put through the dishwasher. I bought it after reading a review of a similar model which indicated this it is what is used in in ice cream parlors. It was inexpensive enough that I thought worth taking a chance on.I have nicely designed scoop from Zyliss Zyliss Right Scoop Assorted Colors which I love, however...I made some ice cream for my son's birthday with a fabulous recipe from the New York Times. It tastes great, if you can get it out of the container. It is a very dense, rich ice cream which froze very solid. It has taken quite a bit of work to get any out with my regular scoop, but this has worked like magic.I never would have considered purchasing a scoop filled with anti-freeze until I saw that review, so Thank you to whoever recommended it, and I am passing that recommendation on, as I a finding that this works quite well, well enough that I intend to buy another in a different size (because I like that recipe too).

Worked well while dishing out ice cream for a large group and easy to hand wash when done. I bought these for an office function but I may be buying for my house. No complaints especially considering the price.

Awesome ice cream scooper. Works like a charm. But can not be place in the dishwasher. Once you accidentally place this in the dishwasher it is no longer usable. All you ladies out there who usually do the dishes beware because if you're husband or significant other puts it in the dishwasher without you knowing your feelings will be hurt when your heart is set on some ice cream and you pull out the ice cream scooper and realize you have this grey powder all over your fingertips and in your ice cream.

This is not a safe or quality product.!!!It chipped somehow, after extreme careful use…weve literally only used this probably 4 times! I’ve done hand washing, stored on its own, never dropped it.When we serve ice cream I always let it set out for a few minutes first, so it’s not like I was scooping in to some rock hard deep frozen ice cream !Even if I was, in no instance should this happen.Even worse, not sure how but it’s possible my husband accidentally ate that piece of sharp metal !!

Not a whole lot to say about it. It's a sturdy ice cream scoop with a heat transfer fluid in the handle. Makes scooping ice cream an order of magnitude easier than with the crappy lever scoops or the cheap plastic scoops. 10/10 would scoop again.

The media could not be loaded. Makes serving ice cream so easy. Not only does the mineral oil inside help redistribute the heat from your hand to warm the ice cream, you can also run the handle under hot water to do the same. My FAVORITE thing, however, is how easily the ice cream COMES OUT of the scoop - no more having to stick my fingers into a cold treat and PUSH it out of the scoop. The ice cream literally just falls right out into the bowl. It's amazing.
Best scoup I have used
I am no pro but an average home owner who has bent or broken every scout to cross my path. This scoup seams sturdy by design and magical in it's ease through ice cream, may be due to it's shape but the effort required is 75% less than my last scoup.

Not dishwasher safe!
Maybe this is common knowledge to some but I did not realize putting this item through the dishwasher would blacken it! It's apparently possible to clean, but this information should be somewhere on the product page. Hand wash only!

It is easy to use this to scoop up hard ice cream. Just need to remember never put it in dishwasher.

I was disappointed by this item because it is not dishwasher safe, and this was not clearly stated in the listing. To me, commercial grade means it would be washed by dishwasher, not by hand. If you are ok with hand washing, it is a nice weight and a good size.
