About this item:
The FabLife Hip Kit is the perfect set of accessories for those who need assistance in their day-to-day tasks. Designed to help users avoid bending at the hip and improve daily living, the hip kit is a variety of selected tools that are vital in assisting patients with bathing, dressing, reaching and other activities. A total package that’s ideal for those undergoing hip, knee and back rehabilitation. All the items in the kit help users regain and maintain their independence as well as prevent them from bending, kneeling, reaching and twisting. Included in the kit are a 26" reacher, a contoured sponge with a 17” handle, a formed sock aid, an 18” plastic shoehorn and a 24" dressing stick. This kit is a terrific asset to those moving slowly and carefully pre- and post-surgery. The 26” reacher is for people who need to grab items from high (shelves) and low (under the bed). Prevents bending, kneeling or stretching. The contoured sponge with a 17” long handle allows individuals to wash themselves and not feel dependent on anyone else. The formed sock aid helps users in placing socks on their feet and pulling them up, preventing bending, pulling and straining. The kit also includes an 18” plastic shoehorn and a 24” dressing stick, both of which offer great assistance for those with a limited range-of-motion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made a difference in recovery
While in hospital post spinal decompression and fusion the hospitals PT TECH recommended a product. Everything was made well and very helpful. So grateful I had the package delivered to the rehab center. Quality was very good, every item was a great help and price was great.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good choice
If you have a loved one with a broken hip, this is the kid that they will need. Just advise them that the gripper to pick up and pull up socks. It’s not super strong and the string can break so don’t deliver it too hard and use the part to grips as a tool always use the main section of the rod. Either way, I did repair the broken string with the stronger string, and it works as advertised

5.0 out of 5 stars Every Item Is Useful
I am 80 y.o. and suffer from a back injury which makes bending extremely painful. For the time since my injury my wife has faithfully put on and taken off my socks. Shoes are no problem since I own two pairs of Kizik step-in shoes (wonderful purchase!) Although she never complained I wanted to free her from this task and by chance a friend told me about an item that would put on my socks...wow! I immediately ordered this kit and the "sockomatic" (what I named it) is there, along with a stick that can remove the socks. Also included is a pickup wand that allows one to pick up items from the floor without bending. If you have the aforementioned problems I have then this kit is for you. It will set you free from seeking help in doing procedures other folks do with ease. TMc
3.0 out of 5 stars Some great and not so great tools
I recently had a spinal fusion and wanted to be prepared since I can’t bend, lift or twist for 6 weeks. The Reacher is a little short. To pick up items off the floor I need to bend at the knees which is really hard on the knees. The reacher is 26 inches in length so if you’re are tall you want a longer tool. I am 5’ 7”. For reaching for something on the same level it-works great. The dressing stick is honestly my best friend right now. It has a plastic coating on the ends to not scratch up your furniture or faucets. It works great for pulling the stopper up on the tub spout to start the shower, pull my socks on, grab clothing to pull up. The L bracket lifts the toilet seat, open drawers. The washing sponge is useless because the plastic handle is so flimsy and sponges tend to accumulate mold and bacteria so not something you want to use with an incision. So plan on buying a real one. Found a great one on Bolo for about $10The tool to help put your socks on is too smooth so the sock slides off before you get the sock over your heel but that’s where the dressing stick comes in handy. I loop the hook through the sock and pull it the rest of the way on. Although I might need new socks by the time I’m done because they are getting small holes from the hook.I haven’t had a use for the extended shoe horn so far.All in all if you can buy some of the useful item separately might be the best way to go
