5.0 out of 5 stars Working great, with accurate Heating

I got a really nice price so I purchased this when my Cobalt Heater stopped working after a year. It seems for my long 20 gallon I need 150 watt even though the Marineland Chart shows 75 watt for 20 gallons would work. This came preset at 78. I plopped it in, let it sit for 20 minutes, then plugged it in. When I checked my manual thermostat, it read exactly 78 degrees after 6 hours or so. I turned it down 1 degree to 77 because it is winter currently and did not want it running more often. The water looks clearer and maybe that brown algae that started appearing will go away. Only kind of drawback is it is so big and can't touch gravel. It looks like something out of the Borg. And the long side because of weight I guess tends to dip the suction cup down a bit, and I can't keep it perfectly straight. But I was having trouble heating my tank so something this powerful was needed. The temperature on the heater is somewhat hard to read. I think it shows 76 when it should show 77 but that's why I have a backup thermostat in the tank.

5.0 out of 5 stars Temperature not accurate at all

    R. · July 3, 2022

Purchased this about 2 to 3 months ago. The heater would great in the beginning. Now I set the temperature to 80 and will reach 86. So it's pretty off in accuracy. The issue is Bolo will bot give me my refund all they can do is replace it with this same item which I no longer want any parts from Marineland. I have had a few issues with this manufacturer already. I've had a cracked 75 gallon tank, a canister filter for 75 gallon tank leak all over my living room just after 3 weeks, and now this heater. This items are not cheap to be buying and having issues and damaging parts of my home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing customer service!!!

I had bought a returned Marineland Precision Submersible heater (50w) because it was half the price of a new one. However, like 3 weeks later the heater quit working. Not long after I contacted Marineland directly (by email). They got back to me about a day later. Now 6 days later I'm with a NEW Marineland Precision submersible heater (50 watt). FREE OF CHARGE and YES that include FREE SHIPPING TOO. AMAZING customer service!!!

The heater looks very nice, but the quality is garbage. The first one I had lasted one year. I chopped that up as a fluke, and bought another one. The second one was DOA. I sent it back and got a third one. The third one died 6 months later. Stable temperature is very important for most fish species. This product can't be relied upon. Get an Eheim Jager. They are more efficient at lower wattages, and they are reliable. My other tank with an Eheim heater in it has remained at 80° F for over 3 years now. I tried these, simply because I like how they look. I used the 300 watt version.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you boil your fish its your fault, you bought too big of a heater!!!!

(Update 08/05/2022 Still working well.)Great little heater, works well.No issues with overheating, and maintains temperature within 1.5 degrees F.Set at 76 actual temp is 74.6, not too bad.Using heater to preheat 20 gallons of R.O water for houseplants from 50f degree source.I placed an OFF on RISE, "SNAP DISC thermal switch" that will cut power to heater at 80f, ...simply cheap protection.I'm not sure why you fish people all dont use a temperature controller or temp switch in front of your heater for protection!!!Buy extra controller ... set controller to go off at 2-4 degrees above optimal.. for safety!Come on people Its like 30$ for a secondary digital controller>> "Rainbird submersible controller", or $9 for a "snap disc N.C, Open on Rise, thermal switch" and some connectors. You can risk $$$ and your fish's lives/tank/solution on just a cheap heater, or sleep safe and no worries, choose the 2nd controller!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing upgrade to older model!!

    A.C. · September 9, 2024

I love the style of this newer model, with temperature levels listed on the nozzle. The older model just included a “+” and “-“ sign to indicate warmer or cooler temps. I also love the place of the suction on this version; the previous one the suction could break off from the thermometer itself.

Like all aquarium heaters . You get good ones and bad ones. So far so good . Replacing a 3 year old one. Do have it hooked to a inkbird for more safety. Would buy again.

    Excelente!!!

Todo muy bien hasta el momento, me da la temperatura casi exacta midiéndolo con mi termómetro, los materiales son buenos y solo esperar que dure mucho tiempo. En teoría el fabricante te ofrece garantía de por vida sobre el producto.

    Fiable, prix raisonnable
