I have used Thirstystone coasters for the past 12 years. I love them because they don't stick to the bottom of glasses when people pick them up! Sure, they don't absorb ALL the liquid but it is easily wiped up and it rarely gets to the table. The problem with the old pattern I had was that I had two boxes of them and the second box was a slightly different shade than the first. This always irritated me. This time I bought one box of this pattern, liked it, and sent for two more boxes. They are all totally uniform, and I love them. The colors are quite subtle blue/gray/beige and go very well with my dark gray glass table and gray and blue decor. The pattern is matte, printed on the top and looks very natural. I plan on them lasting forever.

These coasters are attractive, are large enough to handle different glasses or bottles, and are flat with no raised edge, so easier to use. They absorb water adequately. They have cork on the bottom so they don't scratch the table.

I originally ordered these to use in my new home office. All of the furnishings are real wood and I can be fairly OCD about damage to my furniture. Not for sure if my eyes just deceived me, but I thought they were a little darker colored. Ended up putting them in the living room and buying a darker colored set (same brand). As for the Thirstystone brand, we have a total of 5 sets of their coasters in our house and haven't had a complaint with any of them. Just know that this particular set is somewhat pastel in color in person.

I have had a set of Thirstystone coasters for years but they started looking worn about a year ago, so I started looking for something lively and fun. I found 2 different sets but they were other brands. One set lasted for about 3 months before I threw them out because they just puddled water from the condensation on the glass that ran onto the tables I was trying to protect. The other set, that is about 4 months old, has scratches and chips on the corners (we are not rough-and-tumble people). So, I decided to go back to the tried and true Thirstysone coasters. They are not fun but the most practical coasters for protecting tables from liquids.

I was hesitant to buy these coasters because of the reviews. I wasn't put off by the notion that the pattern was simply a printed image--I expected it. What concerned me were the complaints about the color. There is an image posted by a reviewer of this coaster with heavy pink/red tones. This would not have suited my decor at all. But the colors in the picture were so perfect! So I gave it a try and I'm so glad I did! I am not sure if the redish-toned coasters weren't genuine, but I ordered directly from Thirstystone and the colors are spot on! It's true that the image gives the impression that the pattern is composed of individual stones, like a mosaic, but it doesn't matter to me that it's a print. It's perfect for my decor! I think they're beautiful!

Some things just work as predicted even though that seems unlikely. This is one. A soaking wet Starbucks iced beverage sweats a lot where I live but this coaster soaks up all the sweat from the bottom. Now I just have to figure out how to keep my hands from getting wet…
