5.0 out of 5 stars Good
Works as designed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good value but not solid copper core
We installed this direct burial cable for inside CCTV and Internet extension to a connected building. We like the thickness of the outer jacket and the stiffness of the wire, plus the colors are clear and not faded as on some other cable brands we've purchased in the past. So far, the cable is performing very well, with the camera images and ethernet speeds we expected. Our only reservation is that it is advertised as Cat 5e which is solid or stranded copper by specification. Copper clad aluminum does not meet the industry specification for Cat 5e.
4.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight ethernet cable
Very lightweight unshielded cable, thin outer jacket, no interior separator for the twisted pairs, ok for indoors. Doesn't lay flat, due to hundreds of bends inside the box (250' reel). Solid core conductors are easy to straighten out and crimp. Seems to work fine with compressed, low data rate IP cameras.
5.0 out of 5 stars Issueless
Basically, been issueless. Cool.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good cheap cable
Not much to say, it's cheap but gets the job done well. Box could be designed a bit better, but there isn't much room for improvement anyways
5.0 out of 5 stars Works great so far
Ran about 25-30ft of this and it seems great quality. My box was taped together and the cable was knotted about 15-20ft into the bag. Had to pull so hard it tore the plastic wire holder out of the box and made a big whole. First time purchasing cable like this so idk if that's typical for it to be knotted and for the box to be held together with tape. Seems like I received one that had come open and someone taped it back. I think the knot was supposed to be at the other end but they put it backwards when they reassembled the box. Not a big deal but it had me confused and also now I'm wondering if there is actually 250ft left in here if it's been opened.
5.0 out of 5 stars Bulk cable
Cable seems fine for it's intended purpose. Have several long runs with no issues.
4.0 out of 5 stars works fine, just don't pull it out of the box
was worried given the reviews about broken connections. When the cable arrived, i tested the entire length, and there were no issues on any of the pairs. Instead of pulling it out from the hole in the box, I open the box and carefully unrolled it. Takes a bit more time, but none of the 3 50 ft. cables i pulled kinked or had issues.
Decent cable for what I needed it for
I needed to run about 150 feet from inside the house and into the back yard to hook up a wifi mesh access point. For the price, this was the best deal that I could find to get a relatively small amount of wire to do the job. I could have purchased a 1000' coil for about $20 more but 850' of wire would be sitting around my house forever. I found the casing on the wire to be of decent quality and the twisted pair wires were also brightly colored making it easy to distinguish gw/g pairing etc. Other wire I have used in the past had such pale coloring such that it was near impossible to tell which one was the white coded one. The casing on the wire was actually stronger and more pliable than I expected. It also has UV protection so it should do fine outdoors. I did put it in conduit where I could and where it would be most susceptible to exposure. I am not anticipating any issues. I have used cat5e outdoors before without issue. I have no issues with it being copper clad aluminum and really, you could not tell. If you are using it for network cabling, you have to reason to be exposing bare wire anyway. It crimped to RJ45's just fine.
Not bad
Pros:- good quality- more than enough for small projects- cheaper than buying pre-made cablesCons:- a bit difficult and not so smooth when pulling cables out of the box- why the black or grey coloured ones are expensive than blue ones?
Se enreda al sacarlo
Muy dificil sacarlo del orificio ya que fue mal enredado tuve que abrir la caja completa, pero el cable esta bien.
Nice quality
I had this Vivo case, and a case of DigitNet cat5e that had been lying around for a few years. The thread that comes inside the cable (some refer to it as a ripcord) is braided, and when you cut it, there is not threads everywhere. The Digitnet was basically a loose bunch of nylon that made a mess whenever you cut it.The wires stripped easily, and the blue was vibrant. All around happy with this cable, especially at this price.
