5.0 out of 5 stars Great soap
Smells great and lasts a while. Cleans and lathers great. Doesn’t leave a greasy texture and smooth on the skin. The bars last longer than some say up here
5.0 out of 5 stars Clean afterfeel(sp)
Love the soap. Love the smell and the super clean you feel after. Cost is a bit high..only negative.
4.0 out of 5 stars Its good soap but does have its flaws and some great positives too. Will update once it runs out
UPDATE: 3.5 stars. The soap has its flaws and advantages, but I must say the life of the soap leaves a lot to be desired. I understand it is organic and clean, but with optimal care to keep the soap away from puddles of water and to make sure it was elevated and dry the soap lasts about 3 weeks and 3 days. So if you are fine with the short life of the soap then its a good deal I guess. For me its ok for a splurge, but budget wise not high on the priority list. But really nice soap wish it was cheaper. So first impressions: The soap is black and creates black suds kinda weird but kinda manly. The smell of the Pine Tar is not that great in my opinion kinda pine sol smelling. The smell doesnt last long after you finish showering too but you kinda expect that considering the natural ingredients (there is a positive will address in a minute). Also it has like wood chips embedded in the soap so straight skin to soap contacting does not feel that great. The price is very high for a bar of soap and the reviews are littered with complaints that it does not last. $10 for a bar of soap is pretty expensive. With these factors themselves I would have ranked this smell and soap quality as like 2 stars...... but there are some things that are kinda amazing. The thing that is amazing is this soap does not leave any kind of residue when you finish. Your skin feels super clean but not chemically tainted clean. You feel like everything got exfoliated by a ghost or something. Your SKIN feels great. The smell afterwards you dont have like a cologne lingering smell, but what you do have is a faint smell of pine but most importantly just a neutral no body odor kinda zen smell. For that I give this 2 extra stars. So as a package I give it 4 stars
5.0 out of 5 stars Best ever and all he uses!
We love this! He smells so good and this makes your hair and beard so soft and he says he feels relaxed when needed and it even energizes him when needed
5.0 out of 5 stars An Step Up From Other Soaps!
This is really excellent soap! There is very little comparison between this soap and most of the other handmade soap options out there. Even though there are a number of "hand made" soaps on the market and many of them are excellent, this soap is still one of the best I've ever used. Not only do the natural benefits of a pine tar soap shine through, but the added benefits of the exfoliating sand and the other natural ingredients make it a bit of a game changer. (Which is an interesting term to be applied to a product that is based on a good, old-fashioned, natural recipe and not some funky new chemical additive.)I find it interesting that some reviewers mention the scent... While there is a mild pine scent (which is both pleasant and TERRIBLY manly in my opinion), the scent is not overpowering in any way. I honestly don't understand any of the comments on it being a "strong" scent. Any scented soap out there has more of a lingering scent to it than this... even "unscented" ones often have more of a fragrance than this particular soap.As far as the cleaning and exfoliating properties, they do the job very well... as they should. The pine tar and other ingredients leave my skin feeling fresh and clean without any drying (a big thing when you live in a dry climate like Denver!), and the sand that is impregnated into the bar is just enough to give the soap some "grit" without seeming like it is sandpaper. If you are buying this soap to help with skin conditions, I can only speak from second-hand experience. My wife and daughter have issues with psoriasis and other than a very expensive mud that you can get from the dead sea, a good pine tar soap (like this one) is far and away the best treatment either of them has ever used... and considering the low cost and easy delivery through Bolo, it is not even a contest as to what they prefer to use on a daily basis. (BTW... if you need a good pine tar shampoo, try Heritage Store Hair Shampoo, Pine Tar, 12 Ounce, it is to shampoos what this soap is to medicated hand soap. And last but not least, even though it doesn't have any effect on the quality of the soap... the company is great! They have a cute little email blurb that they send you from Bolo after you have ordered that tells the story of how Sasquatches (Sasquatch-ie?) slave-away lovingly to make the soap for you... it is a minor marketing thing, but I found it surprisingly endearing that the company wants to give you a great product as well as a chuckle or two... Kudos!
3.0 out of 5 stars Not really worth it in my opinion.
To be honest the smell is good but not that strong and the price for it doesn’t really make up for it. It’s mostly just buying the brand but again the smell is nice but unfortunately not strong as advertised.
One shower, and I'm hooked
I was skeptical of this product, seemed expensive, but I figured I would give it a try.I took 1 shower, used this soap, and I will be buying more of these. You feel great after, the scent is fantastic, and your skin feels amazing. My bars of big brand soap are now sitting in my guest bathroom and main floor powder room.
Great product
My teen son has wanted to try this soap since seeing it on TikTok. Although it was $20 for one bar I had to get him one to try. He has almost used it up one week later though. He showers twice a day due to sports. He smells good thought! Iykyk it will be a stocking stuffer type thing in the future.
Awsome soap and smells amazing but a little pricey considering the size
its good and works well skin is soft and smells amazing , but its pricey for the size .
Black mess, smells like Dettol, expensive but a great feeling after a hot shower.
It's an expensive bar of soap, but the shower experience is great! First off keep in mind that it is a black bar of soap, and it leaves a black residue that you are going to have to clean up immediately. It washes off easily but it gets everywhere!! Then there's the scent. It's reminiscent of Dettol and Pinesol. The smell stays in the shower but not on your skin. I have sensitive skin and this soap didn't leave me feeling dry or cause any bad reactions. The overall shower experience was great, but the product loses points in cost, the black mess it makes, and the scent. I would definitely recommend trying it to anyone who is curious -but because of the cost and mess, I won't be using it everyday.
Soap
It’s good doesn’t last long tho
