5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Controller with Just a Few Hiccups for iPad Users
Overall, this controller has been great. First off, the design is fantastic—it feels solid and comfortable to hold, and it has that wonderful retro aesthetic while still feeling modern. The buttons are responsive, the thumbsticks are smooth, and the D-pad is top-notch, which is perfect for anyone who enjoys precise control, whether for gaming or navigating accessibility features. As an iPad user, I was hopeful this controller would be the perfect companion for enhancing accessibility. Pairing it via Bluetooth was a breeze, and it’s been reliable for use with Apple’s AssistiveTouch and other accessibility options. The customization options with 8Bitdo’s software were also a nice touch, allowing me to fine-tune the controller to better fit my needs. However, there are some small limitations. While the controller works well with most iPad features, it doesn’t always integrate seamlessly with every app, especially those that don’t have native controller support. I also noticed that certain button mappings weren’t quite as smooth for some accessibility tools, which required a bit of adjusting. It would be great to see more refined iPad-specific support in future updates! That said, the overall experience has been incredibly positive, and I love how this controller has made my iPad more versatile. If you’re an iPad user like me, looking to enhance accessibility or just have a great controller for gaming, the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2.4G is definitely worth it—just be ready to tinker a bit with the settings to get everything running smoothly.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great controller
Decided to try this controller out over my Xbox Elite Core controller. This one is a lot lighter on weight so it’s a bit more comfortable in that aspect. I never needed 4 paddles from the Core controller. Only ever wanted two, which this has. The only problem I have with the paddles is that they’re so flush with the controller that it’s hard to press and find sometimes. This controller is a little smaller than a normal Xbox controller as well as the angle of where you hold it being a bit different. It forces your elbows closer together and is better with smaller hands. Although, since I got used to using the bumpers on the PlayStation controller instead of triggers, it’s similar on this controller and more comfortable that way. I’m also used to the instant pull of the Core triggers which you can’t do with this. Which is another reason I use them instead. The Hall effect joysticks are kind of the main reason for this though. No stick drift and actually pretty precise.I also enjoy the fact that if you plug the dock into the computer, when you pull the controller off it auto connects to the computer. Plus vice versa. It will turn itself off when you put it back on the dock and start charging.I only use this for specific things like racing, some single player games, and some shooters seem to be better with controller. For the price, this controller is amazing. I’d rather buy this over an Elite controller to be honest. Plus it saves quite a bit over that controller as well. I just wish the angle was not like Xbox controllers and had the trigger locks so you could change where it stops.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great Controller
Great controller; very premium feel and it works very reliably. I rated it 5 stars because it exceeded expectations. Really nicer quality than my console controllers. My only small feedback is that I wish it was larger -- my hands are relatively large, and this is on the border of being too small.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great controller, just a bit too small if you have larger hands.
I’m rating this 5 stars because for most people this will be a great controller. Unfortunately I’ll be returning mine, because it’s a good bit smaller than a standard Xbox controller and I have larger hands, so the ergonomics aren’t great for me, more specifically the grips are too short. I dislike the Playstation style triggers in most games, though I will say it really shines in any driving/racing games, as you can hold the controller claw grip, and use the bumpers for shifting, and holding it claw grip eliminates the size issue, and the Playstation style triggers are great for throttle and brake control. You get a great controller with hall effect sticks, a dock, and programmable buttons for the same cost as an Xbox core controller, just be aware that it’s a bit small, and the version that I got (2.4G, no bluetooth) will NOT work with Nintendo switch, though it’s not advertised as working with it so that’s to be expected.
4.0 out of 5 stars Reliable and Well-Built with a Minor Setup Hiccup
The 8Bitdo Ultimate 2.4G Wireless Controller is an excellent choice for gamers seeking a high-quality third-party controller. It offers a feel and design closely resembling an Xbox controller, making it comfortable and familiar for those used to Microsoft's layout. The controller has a decent weight, contributing to a solid and satisfying gaming experience. One of the standout features is its construction and materials. Unlike many other third-party controllers that often feel cheap or flimsy, the 8Bitdo Ultimate feels well-made and durable, promising longevity even with frequent use. The buttons and joysticks are responsive, enhancing overall gameplay. However, there is a minor downside to be aware of. The Bluetooth/WiFi dongle is hidden inside the charger base and accessed from the bottom, which can be a bit tricky to locate initially. I initially thought the product didn’t include the dongle as advertised, but after some research, I discovered its location. This setup quirk might cause a bit of frustration during the initial setup, but it’s a one-time hassle.Overall, the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2.4G Wireless Controller delivers on quality and performance, offering a comfortable and reliable gaming experience. Despite the slight inconvenience with the dongle placement, it’s a solid investment for anyone looking to enhance their gaming setup with a dependable and well-designed controller.
¡Es muy bonito!
De un color discreto y agradable a la vista, es muy cómodo en las manos y hecho de muy buenos materiales.
10/10
It has a nice weight to it and grip isn’t slippery. I really like how smooth the joystick is and how rumble vibration feels. The wireless dock setup was easy and worked right from the get go. I got this controller on sale for $49.99 which was a great deal for such high quality. The pink colour is perfect for those with white and pink PC setups too!
Hermoso
Recomendo.
