I got these to provide extra entertainment for my 2.5 year old at bath time. She loves helping me snap them and watch the colors emerge. It's a little hard to tell which colors will show up because they sometimes differ form what you see on the deactivated stick, but it's actually a fun surprise to see which one you'll get. They can go in water no problem. They last all night and even still have a little left in them the next morning. these would be great for a party or to use on occasion for home entertainment. Will definitely survive toddler use :)

I love the variety of colors here. I see tons of reviews with people complaining about the lack of color selection, but they're people that don't understand chemical reactions, I guess, because many of the glow sticks look different before they are cracked. Once they're cracked, the chemicals react and they glow in the color they really are. Sure, it looks like white, red, yellow, and orange when they're not cracked. However, I can confirm that, after purchasing both the small and large pack of these, they DO indeed have a great selection of 7 colors. The magenta and red look very similar before they are cracked, but there are both colors in the box. My blue doesn't look very bright in the picture because it was cracked hours before the others but it is nice and bright when it first starts. I would highly recommend these glow sticks. (The seller image for these glow sticks shows 8 colors; I don't remember if there is a darker and lighter "pinkish" color or not. We just opened the new box and I decided to do this review, but there are definitely at least 7 colors but I didn't want to crack a bunch of the red-colored ones to potentially find or not find another shade.)

These were used for various activities and lasted from dark/evening into the next morning. Most notably, we gave them out in party favor bags for families to use for Trick or Treating since my daughter's party was about 2 weeks before Halloween. We used these on Halloween as well. Like the built in safety factor that the glow sticks added - the colors were bright enough for what we needed. I just found that the colors were not as distinct/vivid as the photo shows.

Typically would not write a review on something inexpensive and common. But I must say these are the best glow sticks I have seen this far. Cracked them at 6pm and they are still going strong at 8am. The glass center tube is a little difficult to break for young kids, but when it does break it mixes very well.

I gave these out to the younger trick or treaters this Halloween along with treats. They loved them as did their parents as it was a dark and rainy night. The two that my sons used lasted well into the next day.
