If you are a die hard Mika fan like I am. You will love this CD it's as simple as that. The songs are very catchy and after the third time through you will know most of the words. If you want a preview of the entire song I recommend checking out YouTube but believe me you will like/love the CD. I enjoy all of the songs but the song "No Place In Heaven" is unlike any song I have ever heard. You can tell Mika really put his heart into that song. I also like "Talk About You" and "Staring At The Sun" and well every other song on the album! So if you have come this far to read a review on Bolo believe me you owe it to yourself to get this CD!

I always expect a lot from Mika since I loved all of his previous albums. I was not disappointed with No Place In Heaven! He evolves his sound in every album, and this one was no different. With such fun songs like "Rio", "Oh Girl You're the Devil", and "All She Wants", Mika still has his fun, upbeat sound from previous albums combined with deeper lyrics. He also has his slower songs filled with raw emotion, such as "Ordinary Love".All in all, a fantastic album.Condition of the CD: The seller sent me the album in perfect condition. Thank you!

I want to write something meaningful about Mika's music here, as there are so many one-liner reviews posted. I have followed Mika's music since February 2007 when I first bought "Life In Cartoon Motion". Sadly, he's never really caught on in the United States, never really earning any top 40 hits or top 40 album sales. This is a crime, because he's easily as good as anything you'll hear on the radio today. My one criticism of Mika's music is that it can be kitschy. It can be considered over-the-top or melodramatic, or Glee-ish. This still holds true even on "No Place In Heaven" although he has shown signs of maturation since 2007.One great thing about Mika is his songwriting. He is an important writer as he straddles the fence on a variety of subjects, but most notably, sexuality and how our global society conditions us to pigeonhole people by their sexuality. From "Billy Brown" on Mika's debut, to "Blue Eyes" and "Toy Boy" on "The Boy Who Knew Too Much" to now "Good Wife" and even "Good Guys" on "No Place In Heaven". The subjects Mika chooses are interesting, and his perspective about them is refreshing as well. He's the only artist I know of that is writing about these subjects. Not even Elton John, Erasure, or Macklemore has written about such matters. One other great thing about Mika is his ethnic/cultural background as well. He is at least part Lebanese, but there isn't much information about his father's ethnic background. I can't think of too many other Lebanese music artists as popular as Mika (and by popular I mean Mika is more popular in Europe). Mika also grew up, at least in part, in Paris, France. So, all of those factors make for an interesting artist. As for Mika's music, "No Place In Heaven" still struggles with kitsch in a few places like "Talk About You", "All She Wants", "Good Wife" and even "Rio". Elsewhere, Mika nails it like on "Last Party", "Good Guys", "No Place In Heaven", and the two bonus tracks "Promiseland" and "Porcelain". He is his usual bouncy self on tracks like "Oh Girl, You're The Devil" and continues with his techno adventures on "Staring At The Sun". "Hurts" is a decent ballad and "Ordinary Man" is an unusual ballad in the manner that Mika chooses to sing it.All in all, "No Place In Heaven" is a good, likeable album of songs that hold together quite well. It's just that, when you start out like a variety show ("Life In Cartoon Motion"), then it becomes challenging later on to outdo yourself as an artist. Each Mika album I buy and listen to reminds me that he has yet to make an "The Joshua Tree", "Achtung Baby", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "Dark Side Of The Moon", "Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy", "Chorus", "Violator", "Automatic For The People", "Nevermind", "Thriller", "Bad", "Purple Rain", "Sign O The Times", etc., etc., etc. In other words, he has yet to make a magnum opus. He keeps trying with each release, but the kitsch just keeps getting in the way. Time to get serious. Here's how "No Place In Heaven" compares to Mika's previous works:2007 Life In Cartoon Motion: Three and a Half Stars2009 The Boy Who Knew Too Much: Three Stars2012 Origin Of Love: Three and a Half Stars2015 No Place In Heaven Three and a Half Stars

5.0 out of 5 stars Another STELLAR collection of Goodies from our adorable Mika!

Another fantastic collection of songs from Mika! Now that he's free and out of the closet...he's rejoicing in his sexuality in this album with a lot of lyrics that point to a closeted experience such as "All She Wants", "Good Guys". "No Place in Heaven", "Good Wife". I have a particular love for tracks "Staring at the Sun", "Rio" and "Promiseland"...in addition to the aforementioned! Thanks for another great one Mika!!

In a world of non-music today, an occasional talent gives us a new album. A great voice, a melody, a good beat -- what more could you ask for?I received this a day after the horrible VMA ??? Awards with obnoxious Miley and Nicki. Oh such pleasure on this disc after that mess last night.Sweet, fun, thought provoking and melodic. Enjoy.

Love the new songs, love the reworked old familiar songs. LOVE Mika baked by a full orchestra. Ok, yeah, I love Mika. His music is fun and happy. In this one cd, he offered different arrangements of several songs, making those familiar songs new again.

I love, love Mika, and this album does not disappoint. I can listen to this album over and over without skipping a single song, which is rare. The album arrived the day before I started three weeks of traveling, and made the long waits in airports bearable.

This sounds great. Some of the songs take on the feeling of emerging into the sunlight or other very pleasant experiences. It fills my car with great sound and is now my favourite Mika album, although I never heard it first time around.Maybe the album takes on more meaning all these years down the line as we emerge from the pandemic but lots still to be done.
