ELDON BIOLOGICALS A/S is a Danish manufacturer of dry format cards for blood grouping. EldonCard has been manufactured and used for more than 40 years. Millions of cards have been utilised to establish an individuals’ blood group within the AB0-Rhesus (D) system to ensure compatibility of patient/donor blood. Today, EldonCard are based on the use of special formulations of selected monoclonal antibodies. The EldonCard is a product of the highest quality. It recognised as the first point of testing for blood types out in the field within a range of countries across the world. The EldonCard is made of a special type of plastic upon which dried antibody formulations are placed. The EldonCard is a reliable, durable, and flexible point-of-care blood typing system. The EldonCard is extremely safe to use. It is very accurate, using the card eliminates many of the possible human errors associated with the traditional laboratory-based methodologies, where blood type testing is done with liquid reagents on a glass plate. It also leaves a permanent record which can either be kept in a patient’s journal or can be given to the patient for safekeeping. The blood is drawn by using a single-use safety lancet, which prevents accidental piercing by anyone picking up the lancet after it has been used. The EldonCard is extremely accurate and has been tested against the standard blood typing procedure using directly agglutinating antibodies. Tests performed at several laboratories in different countries with results being equal to laboratory tests. EldonCard is used by hospitals, blood banks, and blood centres, where it can be used for general blood typing and for Bed Side Testing. Given the flexibility, durability, and accuracy of the EldonCard, it can be used outside hospitals and clinics, in practitioner’s clinic, humanitarian settings, remote locations, battlefield, classrooms, home, any emergency calling for a speedy, reliable test.

I received my kit today (12/29) even though it was scheduled for delivery sometime next week. So A+ for quick shipping! I ordered the 2 pack and nothing was missing. Everything was packaged nicely in the individual kits.My boyfriend and I performed the tests a few minutes ago, and I'm pleased with the results. The lancet barely pinched and was MUCH less painful than I had imagined. Our tests worked beautifully, although I had some trouble bleeding enough to put a decent drop in the last circle. It still worked well enough to show me my blood type. The instructions are very easy to follow, and the illustrations are clear. I would highly recommend this product to anyone not wanting to go through the hassle, time, and expense of getting tested professionally. Or if you're unable to donate, this is a simple way to find out your type!

Product as described. Was very easy to use. Took about 5 minutes tops. Definitely follow the instructions. A few tips: wash hands in warm water first or use something like HOt Hands to warm the fingers up. This will increase blood circulation. Second, many people are complaining it is hard to get one drop of blood in each circle. If you squeeze the finger from base to tip this will help. Also, you can use the dropper to collect the blood and drop it in the water in the circle. Just don't touch it to anything. Finally, you can look on YouTube or something like that to see where to do the finger stick. I like the outside of the ring finger. It is not usually calloused as the thumb or pointer finger. Last, read the instructions and have everything set out. One person can do it, but two people make it easy and fast. As you can see, this one resulted A positive. I am A+, my husband is O-, daughter is O+, so we were all betting how he would result. I won!

Tested both my kids (would be $115 each at the doctor's!) and the results made genetic sense. Was fairly easy to do though the instructions were a little confusing about how to mix the blood with the paper surface (found it doesn't really matter, just stir it a bit - the only one that turned positive agglutinated immediately and was fairly obvious). Won't know for sure if accurate until they really need to be typed by a lab some day! (Didn't want to buy 2 more to confirm with our types...)

I had no problem doing this test except that their lancet did not work too well for me! I am a diabetic type 2 and i have a hard time sometimes getting my fingers to bleed! It may be because of callus build up on the ends of my fingers? Anyway after using the included lancet, i went ahead and used mine because i can set the depth with the one i use for my diabetic test kit, as opposed to a single setting on the one included in the kit! After i place a drop of water and then a drop of blood in each circle on the included card, i stirred each one with each individual stir stick making sure not to mix one circle with the other! The results were quick to appear and now i know i am A+! Cannot beat the price to have the security of knowing your blood type! Would definitely recommend this to anyone who does not want to pay the Dr. $200.00 or on up!

Wasn't able to get a clear picture of what type I was. tried the test twice (two came in the pack) but the lancet on both packs didn't work well and I wasn't able to get much blood. I guess that was a good thing for safety, but you need much more blood than what I got off the lancets to get an accurate read.

The kit came with everything advertised and it was easy to do the test but If you do not put enough blood on each circle the test will be invalid. I did it twice and still do not know my blood type. Very disappointed!

I purchased a couple of these to type my blood, my mom's, and boyfriend's. My mom already knew she was A+ so we typed hers first to see if it turned out correct—which it did! The instructions were clear, easy to follow, the lancet worked just fine and everything was in good shape. We had fun with this at-home experiment!UPDATE: I had my blood typed at a doctor's office recently, and it was the same result as this home test I did years ago, so it was indeed accurate!

This item came with two testing kits, each in a "ziplock" plastic bag. The two lancets that came with them were supposedly good for one use only; meaning that after one use, they will no longer fire. The lancets that came in the kits did not fire at all and were useless for the purpose they were supposed to serve. If that wasn't bad enough, one of the kits did not have all the items that were supposed to be included. This was a complete waste of my time and money.There is an instructional video on their website that shows you how to perform the test, but interestingly they do not use the lancets in the video to extract the blood for the test. They manually prick the finger with a handheld pin. Is this because their lancets don't work?...just wondering...I would suggest that you look elsewhere for a blood type testing kit. This one was a COMPLETE disappointment.
