5.0 out of 5 stars Really great intro to the world of sim racing/driving
I paired this with a PC/PS5 G923 and just recently retired it in favor of the Logitech RS 2-in1 Sequential shifter and handbrake. For the price, if you’re already using the beginner level G29/G920/G923 Logitech wheels, and don’t want to use the paddle shifters, it’s a must have in my opinion. It reminds you of a short throw shifter, and is very satisfying in terms of the way it clicks into gear, and its fairly low noise level compared to the otherwise loud Logitech TRUEFORCE system. Feels very well built, and can easily be converted to a sequential shift if you have a few rubber bands laying around and a bit of ambition. If you’re doing any ATS or BeamNG.Drive, it’s hard to live without it. I used mine with a fair amount of Gran Turismo 7, too, and when it comes to stock cars using anywhere between a 4 and 6 speed trans, it really gives you a good bit of immersion, especially paired with a PSVR 2.With that being said, as someone who’s driven manual transmissions most of my life, make no mistake: you’re not going to confuse this for the “real thing”. Changing gears can be a bit clunky at times, and there’s been plenty of times where the sim/game I’ve used seems to register my shift late when compared to my clutch movements. There’s plenty of faster shifts I’ve done in real life a million times that doesn’t input correctly for me. I’m not sure if this is an input lag situation, or just a difference in the feel, or something else. The gates are also unrealistically close together from anything I’ve driven, it can take a bit to get used to where each gear is. Expect to shift from 5th to 3rd, or any other combination of mixing gears up, from time to time…especially at first.Over all, for the price, I’m giving it 5/5. I don’t think there’s another 6 speed H pattern shifter within the price range that works as well and feels at home with the more budget friendly G series wheels from Logitech. Just make sure you’re aware of the compatibility of this shifter: it uses a serial wire end instead of USB, and will only plug and play out of the box with those Logitech wheels. Otherwise, you may be able to use the G adapter for PC, but I’d check compatibility if you’re not using it with a G29, G920, or G923.
5.0 out of 5 stars "Immersive and Durable: Logitech G Driving Force Shifter Enhances Racing Experience"
I bought the Logitech G Driving Force Shifter for my teenage son, and it’s been a fantastic addition to his gaming experience. The shifter is solidly built with a premium feel, featuring a smooth six-speed H-pattern that closely mimics real-life gear shifting. It’s easy to set up and works seamlessly with his racing wheel and pedals, adding a new level of immersion to his racing games. The materials feel durable, and even after extensive use, it’s held up without any signs of wear. My son particularly enjoys the precision and responsiveness during gameplay, and it's compatible with both PC and consoles. A great choice for anyone wanting to enhance their racing simulation experience!
5.0 out of 5 stars A must for manual enthusiasts
I understand the wheel comes equipped with paddle shifters, but... c'mon? The six speed shifter works, and is pretty natural if you're used to driving a manual. One downside is that because the footprint is lesser, even with the extra bit underneath to secure to a desk, the constant forward/backward movement of the peripheral (compared to the left/right movement on the wheel) is more likely to yank it off a desk, so a proper mounted rig would likely be a better option to prevent that.I have, at times, tried to shift into 3rd only to shift back into 1st, and upon looking it turns out it was because the shifter had rotated on the desk, so when I pressed forward I was actually moving the knob to the top left. Like I said, a more secure mounting solution would fix that issue, the product itself works just as advertised - plug and play on my Logitech wheel.(also was handy to map as right stick controls when using X360ce to force games to accept the wheel as a controller)
4.0 out of 5 stars Nice sim gear
Would have been nice if I was able to get it bundled with wheel and pedals, but that just amounted to another box. The mechanical parts of this are very well made and it works great with the game that I got it for. That being said the top knob part is VERY cheaply made and hase the wrong diagram on it. Also pushing down on the shifter for an additional button is bad design. Speaking of which I was able to mount it to my desk beside the wheel but it felt awkward there and kept moving around on me. Thankfully I bought a stand to mount it, the wheel, and pedals to.
