5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price
Overall the build quality is solid, nothing seems too cheap or flimsy, it’s easy to use and set up and works well with assetto corsa, forza 5, and race room. The mounting system is well designed, it’s secure but easy to uninstall if you want to move it. but if it’s trying to be the same as a car it needs some work, the clutch pedal feels almost the same as the gas and with how good the brake feels I was expecting a bit better, the paddle shifters are way too mushy it should be a bit or resistance with a nice click of the whole paddle not a linear motion with a mouse button click at the end, the wheel itself is also tiny it’s smaller than the ones that come on the new civics, though that was probably a compromise to save space. I really can’t complain much because it wasn’t that expensive the feedback feels nice it looks nice it works well and it doesn’t feel like it’s gonna fall apart any time soon I’ve just been spoiled by driving real cars so I know how these things should feel, and having such a stark difference in the components makes it feel more like a toy than I would’ve liked, but I’m not complaining I’m just trying to be descriptive it’s a great product with Logitechs great quality I also appreciate the amount of metal used as far as I can tell the only plastic is the outer casing and the buttons and that plastic feels really good too, they clearly put the money where they needed to with this product.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great starter wheel!
Purchased this for American Truck Simulator on PC. Never owned a wheel before, but I am finding this to be absolutely worth it for what I bought it for. Build quality is good. Clamps do feel kind of cheap, but get the job done without issue. Wheel and pedals themselves feel great. Has plenty of buttons for custom configurations. Was extremely easy to set up and connect. I really have little negative to say about this product. You cant do custom bindings for the pedals through logitech's software which is kind of annoying (wouldve been cool to remap the clutch pedal to an ebrake or something when driving automatics for example) and the clamps dont fit thicker desks - although 3rd party solutions exist. Its fine how it is though and works as intended. Cant speak on how the product performs in other kinds of driving games, but I would guess its still a step above gamepads. This product is a fantasitic mix of quality, features, price point, and ease of use. Im finding this to be a nice starter wheel so far that checks all boxes, and would reccomend the shifter that goes with it if youve already bought this wheel, are enjoying it, and looking for extra ways to enhance your simulated driving experience.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wheel is amazing for everything
This product being on sale and even regular price is great, very easy to set up especially with all the different tutorials online. The design is very cool having all the extra buttons and turn knob that most other wheels dont have. The durability seems to be quite good even for hardcore racing. Cord and wires length is great for any set up
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty sweet. Small wheel, brake pedal is tough, but otherwise very good
I haven't owned any wheel more advanced than this but this one works great. I play Dirt Rally, F1, & iRacing and the compatibility between everything is flawless. Super easy to set up and doesn't have loads of cables to route and manage. You do have to download Logitech GHub software though. Pedal set has a narrow bar across the width on the bottom to provide traction as you step on it but that isn't enough. I have it on a high pile rug and it still slides when I smash it, so you might consider buying a rubber mat for it to sit on.I would say my largest problem with the wheel is that it's pretty small in diameter. Making fast sharp turns is a challenge, even if you increase the sensitivity and decrease the total steering range. I feel like I'm driving one of those kid's shopping carts that are that little plastic car. Frankly this is the leading reason I would like to upgrade to a different wheel.Brake pedal is also not perfect. You really gotta stomp that bad boy if you want max brake power. Pretty sure my left leg is as strong if not stronger than Lewis Hamilton's. However there is an easy mod you can do which is switching the spring in the clutch pedal (its softer) and replacing the brake pedal;s original spring. Or I think you can just buy a softer spring if you like the clutch pedal "feel." There is a slight, and I mean *slight*, click that signifies the dis/engagement of the clutch. I race bare feet and there isn't a shot in hell that I could feel it while racing with socks on.The paddles are great and I prefer those over manual, so if you like to drive manual maybe look at a separate wheel/pedal set. The clutch on this one ain't it.In all, if you want to try sim driving go ahead and get this one. I was on the fence for years until I finally went for it and really like it.
5.0 out of 5 stars awesome product!!!
Bought this wheel to use in Gran Turismo 7 and its a game changer when it comes to playing racing games. I was able to get it for $199 during the limited time deal and man did I get my moneys worth. The wheel and pedals are built with heavy duty products that seem will last a long time. Now to wait for my next purchase and get a racing seat to mount it to. Works well with out one but it really needs a sturdy foundation to be attached to do to the force feedback that comes back through the wheel. Looking forward to getting better at using this wheel in Gran Tourismo 7 and having a more realistic experience with all racing games going forward!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Ps5 wheel
Seems like a great sturdy addition. I don’t like that it’s wired and the wire is so short/ I have to be close to the tv. But it’s functional and easy to use. I didn’t notice any lag, and it has a realistic design. It makes racing games a lot more fun!
Feedback is too harsh
The feedback is very strong its not good for kids
It is very easy to install
I loved it
Great for simulation driving
Very sturdy, especially the pedals. I sit on my living room couch and my G29 is supported by a Wheel Stand Pro. The combination is great. The Driving Force GT that I used with my PS3 is just a toy in comparison to the G29. This is a proper simulator tool. I played hours of Project Cars and F1 2016 on my PS4. I noticed how easy it is to catch those slight overseer moments. With the game pad (same PS4 games) or with my old Driving Force GT (PS3) I had to set up all cars to understeer a bit so I wouldn't lose the rear end on corner exits. With the G29 I get great feedback that allows me to set the cars up to be more neutral. In combination with the great throttle pedal modulation, my corner exit speeds are faster than ever. The brake pedal has great feeling. It is just like a real car (albeit not a race car, but how many "normal" people would have the leg strength for that?). At the end of travel, it becomes hard, simulating the brake pads touching the discs. You can very easily go hard braking from high speeds and slightly pull it back as the car slows down so the wheels don't lock up. I am playing without any brake assists whatsoever and have full control. I brake with my left foot and agree with another comment that the the brake/throttle are too close together for this kind of driving, but it would make no sense to right-foot brake an F1 or Le Mans prototype when in real life the drivers use the left foot (as they have no foot clutch). It was tricky to find a good sitting position with the Wheel Stand Pro's column on the way, but like the other reviewer I moved the pedals slightly to the left and it feels great, even though I'm 5'8" and my legs are aiming towards the center more than someone taller who could move the pedals further forward. The paddle shifters are sturdy enough and do what they're supposed too. The "clicking" sound doesn't bother me even though my speaker volumes are low, but I can see how some people could be annoyed.I don't have the stick shifter add-on and have never used the clutch, so my review doesn't cover them.My only negative comment is the "clipping" you get when the wheel simulates extreme situations (like driving over certain curbs), which is a consequence of this not being an actual steering system linked to actual tires. Some calibration can help with that (lots of info on the Internet) but I found that the default settings provide the best compromise, as clipping removal tends to reduce overall feedback under "normal" conditions. If you're a car person and/or racing fan that enjoys simulation driving, you'll be happy with the G29.
Much better than expected
Having read up on it, I wasn't sure whether to buy this or wait for the new Fanatec DD thats due end of the year. But after hearing that it wont be supporting PS5 initially, I bit the bullet and ordered this.People talk about the gearing being notchy, and maybe it is compared to the high end ones, but having not used those I think this is great and can't feel it.It would be great if it was somehow wireless as there are a bunch of wires all over the place, but I guess technology isn't there yet.Paired with a racing seat (FGT Lite) its an amazing set up for not a lot of money.Highly recommended.
