5.0 out of 5 stars Compact rain pants - fits over your pants
1. Rolls into compact size and fits tiny bag. Very handy for purse or bike storage bag.2. This is an OVERPANT. It fits over your regular pants. So it is oversized. So you order your usual size and it comes bigger by 1-2 sizes since it is supposed to fit you over your normal pants. Too many people complain about sizing. The sizing is perfect. If it were tight, it would rip.3. This tends to be a bit long so you may want to roll up a bit. They are also baggy at the ankle for bicycling. So use a band to keep them tight so they don't catch on bike chain. Bottoms have some velcro closures and can easily be rolled up if needed.4. There are no pockets, only slots to reach your actual pant pockets underneath. Do not complain. This is normal. If you had pockets, you would not be able to access your pant pockets.5. Material is like a medium thickness nylon jacket type. It looks easy to wash, easy to dry, and is waterproof. it is very flexible.6. Waist is all elastic. Easy to slip on and off and is very comfortable for those with a big tummy.7. Ideal for bicyclists who are commuting 1-5 miles and want something over their regular clothes. Not ideal for bicyclists who are in training doing 30 mile rides who need body fitting gear, because you don't want all that loose fabric on a long ride. Ideal for the hiker, runner (a bit noisy, not too much), casual stroller.8. This is not high fashion, but high function. If you want fashion get ArcTeryx or Marmot, or visit REI and pay $200 for the same thing in a form hugging fit. This is robust, functional, compact, and gets the job done of keeping you dry in heavy downpours. No more wet pants at the office after biking to work, which is what I need.
4.0 out of 5 stars Huge!
These pants are enormous, lol. The tag says size 14 USA and 18UK, but in reality these are a USA 16-18 and a UK 18-20 (I buy a lot of UK clothes and a UK 16 is a USA 14) . Additionally they are very wide through the hips. They are elastic waist (wide loose Band, won’t fall down and doesn’t cinch you in) and unisex cut so a little weird in the crotch but not uncomfortable. They are long, I have a 32 inseam and these go almost to the floor, there’s not a way to cuff them (water would just pool if you did) so i hemmed them. Update: only one of the pairs were hemmed as the other two had a Velcro wrap around strap…weird that one didn’t and just my luck it’s the one that fit the best. These are over pants, meant to be worn over your own pants with openings on the side that allow you to reach your real pants pockets (as the overpants have no pockets). They are a bit noisy (swish, swish as you walk) but quiet down when wet. They keep you completely dry but a teeny water can get in via the „pocket“ openings if your coat is not long enough, and you reach in there a lot.I wear a size 14, tried a 10 and wore them just fine over my pants but concerned they would split in the seat if I sat wrong due to the waterproof material. Swapped that out for a 12 that was a little loose (wide).Over all I highly recommend them if you size down.
5.0 out of 5 stars Order 1 size down from normal
Lightweight, packs down to soda-can size with included pouch, wide legs will go over shoes or boots in a flash and they shouldn’t tear when you sit (room for movement). I’m 5’5”, 150lb, size 10-12, usually 12 for waist. Ordered the 10 & they are just right at waistline, so I recommend just order your usual or 1 size down. Legs will be generous but waist will be just right. As others said, pocket openings are slits to reach your actually pockets; most rain jackets or ponchos will cover, or you could roll the waist to raise them a bit if it’s bucketing down and you’re worried. These are going to live in my hiking pack forever!!!! Happy with the size, weight, easy fit, and travel cinch-pouch (pouch not attached - pack camera lens into it in the rain; bonus!)
3.0 out of 5 stars What’s up with the unsecured side openings???
As a prime order it took a really long time to receive. Like more than a week and no communication from the seller. I just got them today. I’m impressed with the compact packing size and lightweight construction. Hoping they will be durable enough. The price is also reasonable. I just tried them on and they are much bigger than expected and balloon around the middle. I guess that will be ok over my regular pants when I travel to Iceland next month, though not flattering at all.I also don’t understand the long side slits for pants pocket access ??? There’s no zipper, Velcro, nor snaps to close them. Just open slits. And quite long ones at that! Without a jacket covering them, they won’t keep water out. It’s not mentioned in the product description. Is this a manufacturing error?
5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite rain pants EVER (better than REI/name brand pants) - so worth the price
I LOVE these rain pants. As someone who works outdoors rain or shine, these are amazing and well worth the price. I have had them for at least 3 years now and have had no issues. I love that I can wear cotton pants underneath for warmth and they will still stay completely dry. They rock for camping when I am wearing pants I don't want to get muddy or damp even after a rainstorm. Some people are mentioning the pocket "holes" - these are great to have access to your pockets that are under the rain pant to keep your items dry. Obviously, they are still holes but I have not had any issues with my pants underneath getting wet as long as my raincoat is long enough to reach over them. They are on the larger side, but that is really helpful when you need extra layers underneath.
1.0 out of 5 stars Runs huge
Per other reviews I ordered my usual size pants. They were HUGE!!! I could've ordered probably 2 sizes smaller, and I'm not a tiny person. There were open holes to access pants pockets, which I didn't realize. Some will like that feature, I don't. Will just lead to my pants getting wet. Also, the opening for the feet seemed really large, but that may be because the entire thing was way too big. I will return these and not re-order.
These are huge so buy medium if you wear large but perfect for dog-walking in Winter
I bought these to take my dog out even in cold, windy weather. They are the best purchase I've made in a long while. My dog quit before I did and he's got a really thick fur coat. I also used these when the hydro went off until my heaters came back on hours later. To that person who complained about the pocket slits I have this to say: it's in the product description. They give access to your pants pockets. Nothing wrong there because you wear these OVER your regular jeans or pants. Very lightweight, wind-proof and water-proof but very long. I'm short so I had to cut off the bottom 5 inches. Like I said in the title, buy medium if you wear large (buy 14 instead of 16 or 18) because the waist will still fit just fine.
As described
Packs down small, really good product. My daughter wore these on a very wet D of E weekend and was happy that they kept her dry.
Perfect for kids camping trip
My daughter recently went away to summer camp and one of the requirements were waterproof trousers in case the weather wasn’t up to scratch. My daughter is 11 but she’s 4ft 10 so she needed a bigger size but I didn’t want to pay a fortune for something she would probably only wear once and also wanted something small and compact so that they could be stored away afterwards. These were absolutely perfect. They come in a very small carry case so they fold down to nothing which makes it easy to pop inside your bag or rucksack. My daughter said they were extremely comfortable and they were plenty long enough in the leg but she was able to roll these up, they didn’t provide much warmth as they were only lightweight but importantly, they kept her dry so they performed well and meant that she stayed dry and warm on her camping trip.I purchased them in black so they looked good as they just blended in with her outfit and they spent an entire day in the rain and she said she stayed nice and dry.I have Seen some complaints in regards to the pockets just being slits in the trousers but I think if you wanted waterproof trousers with waterproof pockets you’d be looking to pay a lot more and for the cheap price point of these trousers, they were more than sufficient for what my daughter needed.Would they be sufficient for a day in the rain or working out in the rain? No but then they’re not marketed for that. They are marketed as lightweight summer trousers and for that, they are perfect.
