Prepare to take off on a non-stop, edge-of-your-seat thrill ride with four suspense-filled adventures in the Airport Terminal Pack. The quest begins with the original Airport, nominated for 10 Academy Awards® including Best Picture, which launched the popular 1970s disaster film genre and became a box office smash. In Airport 1975, a mid-air collision leaves a 747 without a pilot and little hope for survival. The tension continues in Airport '77 when a 747 is trapped underwater in the Bermuda Triangle and it's a race against time to save the passengers and crew. In The Concorde: Airport '79, at twice the speed of sound, the Concorde must evade a vicious attack by a traitorous arms smuggler. Featuring ensemble casts that includes Charlton Heston, Burt Lancaster, James Stewart, Jack Lemmon, Lee Grant, Jacqueline Bisset, Dean Martin, George Kennedy and many more, the Airport Terminal Pack will leave you on-edge from take-off to dramatic landing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ay my family home...
I was a child watching this with the eldest child when she was a teenager at the time we all watched these disaster movies when we had our regular antenna VHS and UHS TV back then all the long commercials were so bothersome. But the movies themselves were all blockbusters and now with no interruptions, I get to watch them anytime anyplace on my own DVD player.

Airport Terminal Pack (Airport/Airport '75/Airport '77/Airport '79 - The Concord)The Airport Terminal Pack contains all 4 movies of that genre.1. Airport- This movie in the pack is the original starring Dean Martin, Burt Lancaster, George Kennedy and others. Van Heflin, a disturbed and financially strapped passenger, brings aboard a bomb in his lugaage to blow up the plane after he took out a large sum of fly insurance. Most likey, this could not happen in this volatile environment we live in and with the security measures now taken at the airports. The movie has subplots of various passengers' lives and moves a bit slowly, but rapidly picks up after the bomb is set off and one of the stewardesses is blown out the plane by the bomb's blast, and another is seriously injured. In the aftermath, it is up to Dean Martin and the crew to bring the partially destructed plane safely to the airport that was directed to them to land. Of the 4 movies, this is the only one that has been remastered in audio stereo.2. Airport 1975- Though not in audio stereo, this is personally my favorite, starring many famous actors; in particular, Charlton Heston, George Kennedy, and Karen Black. The story line goes as Dana Andrews, is flying a piper cub plane on a late business trip when suddenly he gets a heart attack in flight and is heading directly for the 747. The crash happens and tears a huge hole into the cockpit and sucks out one co-pilot, another is killed, and the pilot is serious injured with his eyes incapacitated. This leaves Karen Black, a stewardess with no flying experience, to get into the pilot's seat and try to fly the plane while in contact with the airport control towers. With the plane heading for the mountain ridges, Clarleton Heston must hop into a plane and try to intercept the 747 and try to make a plane to plane transfer of him into the 747 cockpit in flight. One attempt by another from the military failed as he was swept away to his death before he could get securely into the 747 cockpit. A very action packed, disaster, airplane movie that is plausable and with an interesting and drama filled plot and great actors doing great acting performances.3. Airport 1977- Again with great stars, this time a sabotage of the plane is tried by one of the co-pilots working together with some in the mechanical area to try and place gas into where oxygen should come out into the plane for the passengers. This is to knock them out while the plotters take over the plane, and land it into one of the islands in the Bermuda Triange, and take the rare and expensive art that is stored in the plane's cargo. But, as fate has it, the crooked co-pilot flying the plane hits an oil rig in the dense fog, and the plane goes down in the Bermuda Triange and sinks to the bottom. As the passengers and Jack Lemmon, the Pilot, wake up from the gas wearing off, they find themselves at the bottom of the sea in that 747 plane which is water sealed, but leaking rapidly from the great water pressure, and with air also at a premium. The rest of the movie is the story of how they try to get out of this situation as the flight path is hundreds of miles from where they were supposed to go. Jack Lemmon plays a serious role, and major movie stars play in this movie as well. A great rescue movie of a plane in terrible straits. I almost put this one on par with the other other two reviewed above.4. The Concorde, Airport 1979- This movie of the Airport Terminal Pack is farcical and not good or believable at all. It is unbelievable and is funny in parts where it should not be humorous. Despite great stars, such as Robert Wagner and George Kennedy, this one should have been left on the cutting room floor. The special effects are terrible, and the plot is just nonsense. This movie has the plane shot at by a guided missle, then later by rockets from jet airplanes, all on the same flight. One would think that after one experience in the air like this one, the passengers would disembark at the next terminal at which they they land and not journey on with that flight, which they did. With the great price of this Package of 4 movies, it is worth it to buy it, if just for seeing the 1st three movies, which are outstanding. And for kicks, this particular one can be seen for the heck of it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great movie collection
The disaster movies are fun to watch from the comfort of your living room. The cast was great too.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Collection you may not want to miss....
Indeed. Some have said that Airport was "Grand Hotel" in the skies and it is, but where do you find so many talented people in one true big drama hit nowadays?I gave it five stars, because it merits its historic value, having all four movies reunited in a very affordable, and may I say, for the price, very elegant package.True, the second and the fourth are not very intelligent sequels, but they also follow the rule of disparity, as for the Star Trek, Star Wars, Batman, Superman and other even installments.Yet, if one considers, what effort went into making them, on can only admire them. The 2 double-sided DVDs are impeccable, the image was never clearer and the widescreen format helps a lot in keeping all the spectacular scenes together. The first Airport is a must in widescreen, since many scenes were shot in the split-screen process, which gets completely confusing when panned and scanned. The only regrettable thing happens to be the sound elaboration of Airport 1975 and Airport '77.Again, Universal made the mistake to transfer them in a flat monaural version, when, as many fans of the sensurround process know, both were released, as for Midway and Earthquake in that format.I sometimes wonder why the studio didn't try harder to translate the old surround track into the modern 5.1 Digital Dolby one. It's an easy process. In fact, I have isolated some tracks myself and digitally recreated a 5.1 stereo surround track from a monaural portion of the DVDs. It worked and it's a matter of a few hours work, with some remastering and mixing involved.Alas, I don't have a more powerful computer, otherwise I would have remastered the entire soundtrack of all the three monaural movies and redubbed the DVDs.So my question is, if I as a private person with a knack for such things, am able to do it, why cannot Universal do the same?Lack of interest, money, time or what?Nevertheless, despite these unnerving issues, the four movies are still worth collecting, at least until another special edition pops up, with Airport (as in this release) in Dolby Surround 5.1, Airport 1975 the same, Airport '77 ditto, and Airport '79 - The Concorde, in its proper Stereo track.I emphasize the value of this collection, if just for its filmic, historic value and for the economical side of it.As said, when will you find actors such as Burt Lancaster, Helen Hayes, Maureen Stapleton, Jacqueline Bisset, Dean Martin, Jean Seberg, Van Heflin a.m.o. reunited in a movie again?Or in the others, actors as Charlton Heston, Dana Andrews, Karen Black, Gloria Swanson, Efrem Zimbalist Jr., Susan Clark, Myrna Loy, Jack Lemmon, Lee Grant, Joseph Cotten, Olivia DeHavilland, Darren McGavin, Christopher Lee, James Stewart, Alain Delon, Robert Wagner, Eddie Albert, Mercedes McCambridge, Cicely Tyson, David Warner and to top them all of, George Kennedy as Joe Patroni?Think about it.This is "That's Entertainment" in the clouds, with one under the water (Airport '77), alas without Esther Williams in it, but still, it's a who's who in Hollywood in the crazy '70s.Is this not money well spent?Besides, these are movies that anyone can enjoy, without having to feel ashamed to watch them in the family and with the family.Let's hope the sound remastered collection will soon see the day. Until then, enjoy four well entertaining movies for the price of two!

Gear up, tray-table up and hold on ....
I wanted a blast from the past - to see people actually dressing in their best for a flight instead of turning up in their outdoor P.J.'s. Then shame their best outfits will go through the wringer because their various planes have to then go through hell. These various four stories are all about a bomb, a mid-air collision, the ditching of a private aircraft and a poor old Concorde in trouble - all being saved by the suave Dean Martin, the ruggedly chiselled Charlton Heston, poor Jack Lemmon coming a cropper and the evil swine Robert Wagner. Its all 1970's/80's popcorn fare with some great movie stars from the past. They are all Saturday afternoon - raining outside - entertainment, what's not to enjoy? Overall, I think the finest one of the bunch of movies is Burt Lancaster, solid, dependable - the man in charge, and I did enjoy Helen Hayes performance.
