I have been butting the same dog leashes and collars for about 12 years, every dog I own or even dogs I just take care of for awhile gets a large collar and a 6ft leash to match and those stay with the dogs.I have had a 110lb GSD for around 11 years and he’s been through several collars, not because he brakes them but he’s been sprayed by a skunk and I just buy him a new collar. The collar he has now and the leash I have for him feels great, materials are thick, they are stiffer etc. the NEW collar and leash I bought for a 80lb Rottweiler feels like it’s paper thin in comparison, the material is so flexible it reminds me more of a thin rope in it flexibility, the thickness of the old collar to the new one is significant. I have actually had the new collar twist around my fingers when the dog changed direction, the old ones never did that.Again, I have never broke a collar or a leash from them, either they cheapened way up on the layers of material used or they found a stronger and thinner material but what they sold even 6 years ago, feels so much more robust and quality than the new stuff.The metal latches didn’t change, same ones on the old collar and leash, same emblem on them, only thing that changed was the strap of the leash and collar.I have never had a failure, I have used them a lot on up to 115lb dogs, but I feel if I had a failure and the collar broke, feels like it will be the newer ones. I don’t plan to send the new ones back, I will keep them and see how they do. The 80lb Rottweiler that is dressed with the rose pink large collar does test them now and then and so far no issues.Btw the shades of colors never changed, they have been very consistent with shades of colors, the rose pink looks great on a female dog. I buy blue for the male dogs.
