We took photos of how we broke the 5lb bag down into more manageable packs. We ended up using 4 of the “Quart” size bags (they are completely full!), and the few leftover were put into a “Sandwich” size bag.In case it helps you - we used the Ziploc QT size with the “sliders” to make it easier for our kids to be able to grab a couple out to eat, or give to the birds. We have had trouble with the regular Ziploc bags in the past. Issues with being able to close them when they’re really full to the kids not noticing the tops weren’t completely closed. Ending up with a counter & floor full of nuts! So for us - the bags with the slider on top has been working. They store well, travel around the house well, & stay fresher longer.The nuts have no added salts, or flavors that makes them appropriate for kids, birds, & pet pigs alike!Happened to be the best price by the ounce that I could find too!Which was a little surprising - because while there was some shell dust in the bottom (almond nuts will & can break off little pieces of shell durning normal storage & subsequent movement), 1 loose almond nut, & 1 broken almond shell was all the “waste” there was in a 5lb bag. We actually ate the loose nut, & it was good!Considering the price we actually expected that the nuts would be in bad shape, or bad would be mixed with good, and at least a pound of broken shells & nuts like we have gotten from other producers.We now have a go to for at least our birds almond treats, and may try out some of their other bulk products in the future! Our bids (and kids) have absolutely been loving these almonds!!As a matter of a fact even our birds who have never had an almond are tearing them up! They are really fresh, & good! If I was just a little bit more selfish I would make some fresh Almond Butter!*Those with food allergies there was a warning that they are processed in a place where other nuts, & seeds are processed *Whether someone was looking for almonds for cooking, sharing, or using as parrot, or other pet treats we absolutely would, & DO Recommend this brand to friends, & family.&We hope our review is helpful to you!

My macaw loves cracking these shells to grab the almond treat. I usually stock up on Diamond brand 16oz packages when I can find them at the supermarket. I was running low & unable to find replacements at the store, so I tried these. Five lbs is more than I usually have at one time, but the zip-lock bag works well to seal the remainder after I place a "working amount" in a Tupperware style container. These almonds were roughly equivalent in price per unit & quality to the Diamond brand I've experienced.

I have several parrots and they LOVE almonds in the shell (makes them work for their treat). I have ordered 5 lbs of almonds from many different vendors. These have been the freshest & some of the largest I ever got. I can't tell you if they taste good or not, but, they are definitely delicious to my birds.

What you see in the picture is about 1/3 of the 80 oz package. All of these rejects have mold, from a bit on an end to totally covered. Free floating nuts out of the shell, 1 dozen. Lots of broken empty shells.7/8 of what was left were split on the sides which let air in to dry them out. If there is a total of 12 almonds in the whole package with intact shells, I’d eat my hat if I wore one. Out of 80 ounces, I ended up with 4 quarts of split, dry nuts I ordered to feed my African Gray parrot.DONT ORDER THESE….THEY ARE A RIPOFF!
