5.0 out of 5 stars Best product ever!
These little fly catcher’s are great! This year the fruit flies seemed to linger longer than usual because of the warmer temperatures. I tried everything from vinegar/soap combinations, making sure there’s no fruit left out, and constantly rinsing my drains. They just wouldn’t die! So, I ordered 3 packs of these in addition to a drain enzyme.Super easy to use, good value, and within a few days these were full. They catch so many flies. Highly recommended
5.0 out of 5 stars It works!!!
Some of the reviews had me skeptical, but happy to share that I am very pleased with this product. I was a bit worried when I first set it out, there were a LOT of fruit flies sitting on TOP of the apples; but after the first night, there were just as many INSIDE the apples. After two nights, it has amassed a significant collection and there are significantly less flying around. It initially doesn’t smell the best but it’s not a lingering smell, just light a nice fall candle to quickly offset it. They are small and not unappealing, easy to place. Definitely worth the “investment.”
4.0 out of 5 stars VERY effective. But no refills, apparently.
I got the Terro 2-pack fruit fly traps. I had wasted about 35 US dollars on a fancy, useless electric fruit fly catcher before ordering this simple, non-electric solution. The cute red apple shaped traps are about the size of a small tangerine. Each uses about a 1/2 bottle of the vinegar-based attractant provided (which is non-toxic). They are stable and can be put almost anywhere on a kitchen shelf or counter, unlike most homemade / D.I.Y. versions. The supplied liquid works better than the homemade ACV and dish soap. There are small windows on the sides and bottom so that you can check that it is working. My only complaint is that Terro apparently doesn't sell refill liquid, forcing one to buy more unnecessary plastic and to discard a perfectly good device. Other companies make knock-off refills. I haven't tried them yet. So, in summary, a great product that is bad for the environment ultimately.
3.0 out of 5 stars Kinda works, not enough
The liquid is clear not red. I've had this brand before and it worked great but right now there's only a few inside. There were like 20 just hanging out on the top laughing at me. So it did catch a few but did not get the whole job done.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised.
I had fruit flies that invaded my room, and I would be accosted daily with little dots hovering around my face day and night. This product cleared them up within days. The one thing to keep in mind is the bait does smell of rotting apples in it's immediate vacinity, so keep some scented air spray handy. But, if you keep the traps across the room, you can barely smell it. The trap does catch and drown the fruit flies in the bait, as it's essentially a scented oil container with holes, by the second day there were tons in the apple and none in the air. 5/5
5.0 out of 5 stars Effective Fruit Fly Capture/Kill
I decided to buy 4 more of these because they work so well. Will have some ready for next infestation. They suggest throwing them away after 45 days. Inexpensive so not a bad way to dispose. Would be better if we could recycle.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great gnat traps!
These gnat traps are cute and very easy to use. You can also use them over and over by buying a refill. I’ve never had gnats before, but suddenly had them in many rooms.. kitchen, bathroom and laundry. It takes a few weeks to get rid of these pests. I’ve kept the traps in place just to be sure. These traps work great, along with spraying the buggers.
3.0 out of 5 stars Terro Fruit Fly Trap
I suppose the quality rating would vary depending on the attributes you value most. The little traps are cute. Not unobtrusive given they are red, but they are tiny. The liquid seems to be a watered down apple cider vinegar, so it attracts the fruit flies. These traps are easy to use if you are tossing them when the job is done. They are, of course, disgusting if you want to clean and reuse them. In my case, the traps lasted just over a week before drying out. This is less than half the stated time to expect. So, if cute and tiny is your goal these work. If a fast job is all you need, these work. If you’re brining in fresh organic (not sprayed) foods from your garden and store, these won’t be enough at times. If you’re not ok with plastic waste these aren’t for you. My homemade traps have been working for over a year without a refill and reuse plastic water bottles I got from people I know. So the homemade versions win for me and I put those back in place.
2 weaks now waiting for a fly
2 weaks now waiting for a fly to be caught, I'll keep waiting
Surprisingly effective
At first I thought it won’t work but was surprised how two cleared two rooms fromThe flies we had
works
Seems to work OK
Best thing ever!
We have suffered with fruit flies for a long time. We placed the trap in the kitchen and they were gone in 2 days! It really works!
Works well but needs patience
The scent attracts flies in seconds but will not get trapped in one night. You need to be patient and wait for couple of day.Set two traps and after a week it catched more than 20 flies
