This kit is worth it, if nothing else, just for the shims. They are very cleverly designed - there are two sets of thicker shins that overlap each others’s inner diameter. Then there are plenty of very thin .006” shims that you can put between the big shims. This protects the thin shims from getting damaged when you hammer them in. I was able to get carrier preload perfect in three tries, and I also got a brand new set of gears installed with only three assemblies. Very happy!The pinion seal is a good quality one, same as Yukon sells. I didn’t use the included pinion nut, it is not the dry Loctite type, but rather the distorted oval type.My only wish would be an option for Timken bearings. The included koyo front pinion bearing does not fit ford Motorsport pinion so you’d have to either rub off the coating or press it on somehow. The timken variant, M88048 fits fine. The included koyo bearing is part number M88048-N not sure if there’s a difference but if you’re doing the axle in situ, I would recommend the Timken front pinion bearing.This kit does NOT come with axle bearings nor axle seals.

Cane with Koyo bearings, 2 said made in USA, 2 said made in Japan. I'll take Japanese made products over Chinese/Indian made products any day. Everything worked perfect in my Explorer 8.8

These bearings so far are great, installed, been driving on them for awhile and no noise, best of all was they are not cheap chinese junk.
Perfect for complete builds, rebuilds, or freshening up diffs...
This kit was perfect for a complete build of an 8.8 from scratch. The pin walked out of a stock trac lok unit and destroyed the carrier, ring, pinion, and just about everything except the housing, so we knew we would need it all, and it did not disappoint. I have used several Yukon kits and never had an issue. Money well spent on this kit.
High quality!
Excellent rebuild kit, has everything needed! The kit came with Timken bearings which are very high quality, although the listing says Koyo bearings. Either way it’s a win win. Both bearing companies are great! Also don’t be worried that the box says USA gear, it’s the same company.
Mostly good, wrong inner pinion bearing
Overall the kit looked good, as I compared the components to my disassembled differential I found that the inner pinion bearing was incorrect for my application (08 ford explorer 8.8”). I’m going to return the kit and try to find another that fits.
