5.0 out of 5 stars Work Great in my Xterra
I just replaced the OEM Hitachi coils with 105k miles in my 2013 Xterra with these and some new NGK Iridium plugs on 3/3/24 and WOW. I did not realize how roughly it had been running until it started purring today. It's so much smoother and quieter now.I had no trouble codes, just symptoms. I've replaced the spark plugs once before at 80k with NGK Iridiums and it still runs OK but was starting to have intermittent trouble starting and idling so based on mileage and symptoms I decided to replace the coils and plugs. These 6 are the cost of 1.5 Hitachi coils and have great reviews. I read reviews of other ENA coils for other applications too, all averaged around 4.5 stars. I tested the ENA coils with a multimeter before installing them (lots of videos on youtube for that) and they were all good and had consistent resistance from coil to coil. I also ordered a single Hitachi and compared it to the OEM ones and these. The new Hitachi had the same resistance as the 6 used ones I took out, the ENAs all had slightly less resistance but similar profiles. Since the OEM ones were apparently not working well I'm not sure how significant that test is, but it does atleast show consistency. ENA fit and finish is comparable to Hitachi, both look and feel good. Hitachi has a one year warranty, ENA has 24 months. So far so good, I'll update in a few months or sooner if there's an issue.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fixed my problem and working great so far
This is a cheap alternative to getting expensive OEM coils and is working great for me so far. It's only been a couple of days but it seems like it's a great value, and if I have issues down the road, the company has a warranty. My 2004 Nissan Murano was undrivable until I put these in and now it's running great. The car isn't worth much so it didn't make sense to spend hundreds of dollars on OEM parts that may or may not have been the issue, these were cheap enough to give it a shot, and now my car doesn't sound like it's about to blow up.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly but time will tell
Unexpectedly had a coil go bad on my 06 Altima 3.5L, not a cheap thing to replace when you have six to replace because you should replace them all at the same time and not mixmatch coils, saw the reviews for these and figured I’d give them a shot at the price. I was pleasantly surprised when they arrived to see how solid they looked and felt, tore down my engine and replaced all six coils and the car is now running perfectly, time will tell just how good they are but first impressions are very good, would highly recommend if you’re in a pinch and don’t feel like spending $800 for OEM coils
4.0 out of 5 stars Installed 6 and 2 failed after 220 miles. Was sent out a replacement set so far so good
So I installed these on my 2007 Nissan Maxima I don’t hold it against the product for ease of install because those back 3 coil packs are a pain to get to. Anyway installed them all at first everything was great keep in mind I replaced the spark plugs, coil packs, pcv valve and new vacuum lines. Misfire at cylinder 3 went away right away. Then at about 250 miles I got on it pretty hard and car started acting up again. Used my scanner this time it said misfire on cylinder 1 and 4. Wasn’t taking it all back apart again right then to check 1 but 4 is easy enough so I put one of my old coils on there and that went away. So I contacted Bolo as I was still in return period and they sent me out 4 new ones. I swapped the 2 bad ones and so far it’s been 700 miles and still holding good. So I guess if your installing yourself it’s worth it as buying the OEM ones are $350 so for $60 these are a great deal just know that you may have to swap a few out after some mileage. If you had to pay a mechanic to go back in and swap them you may be better off just buying OEM ones from the start. Also if I had to do it again I would leave off the back bolt that holds the bracket since that’s such a pain in the butt until I got some mileage on them and then I would put it back in.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great so far!
easy to install.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fit just fine
Would definitely buy again
1.0 out of 5 stars Replacing plugs? Definitely consider replacing coil packs, but not with these.
I was a bit hesitant about buying these, I read the reviews prior to buying and was concerned. In the end, I decided to give them a try. I was already planning on replacing the spark plugs, at this price, replacing the coil packs at the same was a no-brainer. They are an identical match to the coil packs that were originally in my truck. The fit was perfect. I have seen reviews that talk about one of the original coil packs being different from the rest while all 6 of these are the same. That was not the case for my 2013 V6, the original 6 were the same on all cylinders, so no issue installing these. My old coil packs were not bad, but the combination of these new coil packs and new spark plugs caused a noticeable improvement in the way that my truck runs. I have only had them on the truck for a couple of days, but I have been pleased with them, so far. I will update this review if my opinion changes over time, but for now, I would absolutely buy them again and may end up doing just that for my son's car. I do recommend keeping the old coil packs around for a little while ... just in case ... but I am pleased with these.11 April 2017 update: Dropping start count from 5 down to 1. I ran these in my 2013 Nissan Frontier for between 5 and 6 months and started noticing that my MPGs were going down and the engine was running a bit rough. At 7 months, I got the "check engine" light with a P0420 code (indicating cat failure or downstream O2 sensor failure). Finally, at 8 months, the truck was running very rough and it threw a P0300 and P0301 code (misfiring on cylinder #1). Thankfully, I kept my original coil packs. I put the old coil packs back in. While removing these coil packs, two of them (#5 and #6, not #1) came out in 3 or more pieces. Now that I have the original coil packs back in, the truck is running smoothly again, my MPGs are back up, and I have not received any codes from the computer.Bottom line: after 8 months of use, 50% of the coil packs were bad or broken. You may want to consider buying these if you have a single bad coil pack and want some spares (and don't mind changing them again), but I would not recommend a complete swap out.
