5.0 out of 5 stars Lasted me 10 years
Bought this model in 2014. It’s dealt with a full decade of heavy use and abuse. I’ve managed to finally break the tip of one of the snips. They’re still functioning well enough, but finally time for a fresh pair. I can’t think of anything else in my life that has cost me less than a dollar per year. Hopefully they still make them as well as they used to! Able to cut through plenty of materials easily. The grips are good but can slide off after repeated uses, just push them back on. Amazing value for money. Non offensive appearance. Can be used in a multitude of projects.Easy to use, just don’t dislodge the spring or they won’t return to the open position without fiddling with the spring to return it to its proper place.
5.0 out of 5 stars Top Quality Pliers and Cutters!
Hakko is a Top Quality product at a very competitive price. Look no further, these Hakko brand pliers and cutters are made in Italy and built to last. The CHP-170 Micro Cutters come with very comfortable rubber dolphin style grips that make each and every operation extremely smooth and effortless. I build miniature metal models that are extremely tiny and very delicate. I use the cutters to snip the parts out of the thin sheets of metal, and the different size pliers to manipulate the parts to shape per the instructions. At the moment, I have 5 different pliers, and 2 different sets of cutters. Each model is different, and I find myself back on the Hakko website researching a new set of pliers or cutters / snips to help me build my current project that much better, and with a little more ease! Because of the availability of different variations of pliers and cutters from Hakko Tools, my models are built to perfection. The metal model kits I buy suggest using a set of tweezers. Hakko has awesome pliers with tips that are just as small as tweezers — sometimes smaller. Because of the tools size and durability, they make working on delicate projects enjoyable — avoiding the frustrations of not having the proper tool for the job at hand. Next time you are shopping for a precision / Micro tool, skip over all of those cheap “Quality” tools and those overly expensive ones too, and pick up a Hakko CHP Brand Tool. Because of the many differences in each pair of pliers and cutters, it’s best to go to the Hakkousa website and compare each listing. Pay close attention to each description and CAD drawing — if available. Although many of their tools will look similar, there are sometimes very subtle differences in size, width, shape and length. Also, the pliers can have squared or rounded edges, serrated or smooth jaws, flat or round, pointed or even one flat and one round jaw. Some of the cutters have a different degree of angle, position of the cutting jaws, different jaw widths and can also offer a safety clip to prevent clippings from flying up. These are micro / precision tools and are meant to be used for soft precise cutting or where accurate and precision gripping is required — such examples are electronic circuitry, Jewelry Making and miniature metal 3D model making to name just a few. The description for each tool on the Hakkousa website lists the gauge limits of the soft wire for the cutters and the suitability of uses for the pliers. By no means are any of these tools designed to be used in automotive, home repair, marine or any heavy duty application. I’ve stopped looking elsewhere for micro pliers and cutters, and You Should Too!
5.0 out of 5 stars This tool can't be beat
Ok, don't go trying to cut 3/4 rebar and then complain that the jaws dulled. These are designed for clipping component lead or objects of similar size. But dang these are my favorite. Very comfortable, very sharp. A great tool at a very reasonable price.Buy it. Use it. Love it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice precision cutters for a reasonable price
The headline says it all. Good quality and good price
4.0 out of 5 stars Great little cutters but only for soft material!
These are excellent, sharp little cutters for a cheap price. You can see in the pictures there are two pair. The first set shown are still as new and you can see the blades are sharp and not damaged. In the later pictures you can see the other pair which has nicks in the blade near the tip. I mistakenly thought a small, thin piece of metal was light and light but was much stranger steel than I realized. Trying to cut this damaged the blade as shown in the photos. That pair still cuts but not quite as well as it did before. Still very well, just not as well.I realize I asked too much of them, albeit accidentally, but just posting this to show the limit isn’t very high. However if you stay within it, they are nice. The grip is comfortable and soft, the spring action is just the right strength and they are sized right for small jobs like zip ties etc.Even with the issue, I would still recommend these!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great product
Excellent product for model building. Good quality. Durable handles and nice rubber grips. Good value for the money.
5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Miniatures and Modeling
Purchased these cutters for working on miniature models. They work great for cutting spruce and trimming excess resin or plastic from models. They have also worked great for small metal pieces but I wouldn’t cut anything too thick that is metal as these do have their limits. Lastly, they have worked well for cutting wire for electrical applications. They are very comfortable in hand and light weight. I love the shape of the grips. The jaws are well aligned. Overall very happy with the product and the price. These should last years but I’ll happily replace or try this brand again as-needed.
5.0 out of 5 stars Execptional for the price
I had a different brand of micro cutter for wired circuit boards. The tip snapped off. I should have known as the tips on this brand didn't line up and the manufacturer belt sanded the ends to make them better. The Hakkos have nice tips and are sharp. I tested them with a file to check hardness. They are hardened.Get these!

Un pince Micro coupante réservée a l'électronique ou a des travaux de précisions. Très bonne qualité, je recommande !
Pinza eccellente
Ottima per tagliare fili per lavori di elettronica.
Awesome
Came as described. Although is bigger, is as heavy as my other tools, comfortable to use. Cuts flush and can get to difficult knots in the wire. Been using it for a couple months and I love it.
