5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly What My Wife Needed!
My wife has Parkinson's and shopping has become too much for her with her walker. She resisted the "Power Shopping Carts". Finally figured out that a product like this is what she needs. Since getting this scooter, she get's out at least once a week to go grocery shopping, Walmart, etc. We park in a handicap spot, I assemble the scooter, help her get on and we are off.It has easy to use controls, nice battery guage (5 miles oer charge) and is thoughtfully designed to make getting on and off as easy as is possible. Sturdy flip up armrests and a swivel seat that locks into multiple positions are nice touches. My only small complaint is that the turning radius of this four wheeled version is really wide. Takes some practice but works fine in a store, not sure about inside a home. We only use if for shopping. We chose the stability of having four wheels vs the three wheeled version. This is solidly built, very stable and just "feels" safe to go on a spin.It seems durable and really is simple to use. The speed control knob limts speed but when turned up to max, will get you someplace in a hurry. After you do it a few times, the assembly and disassembly is quick and pretty painless.Really glad that we purchased this scooter. It's been nearly life changing for my wife . . .
5.0 out of 5 stars Reasonable price, good value, pleased with performance after first month of use
I've owned several different brands and sizes of scooters over the past 10 years. I needed a small/midsize scooter to replace my larger scooters that weigh up to 200 pounds. Primary use for this scooter is shopping, sightseeing and travel on airplanes and/or rental cars. My larger scooters always required a hitch-mounted carrier due to their size and weight.Purchased this scooter after reading many favorable reviews. Price was very reasonable and it arrived a few days early from the expected delivery date. Unit was boxed well, undamaged, easy to assemble and the battery charge was quick.PROS -Easy to break down for transport, typically can be done in 1-2 minutes max.Lightweight, very easy to load with battery and seat removed. Usually do not need to completely disassemble (Break front and rear apart).Controls function well, speed control is very even from slow to fast.Like the 'delta' steering handle.LED battery strength indicator is easy to see even in sunlight.Cruising range (with standard battery) appears to be fine. Can drive all day (on paved surface without too many inclines).Good instruction manual, detailed and also identifies accessories if needed.CONS -Wish it had slightly larger tires, tires are small and ride can be rough at times (solid rubber tires, not pneumatic)Horn is wimpy, not very loud.Wish it had a built-in headlight and larger reflectors on the rear.Seat is adequate, but not a lot of padding if you sit on it for long periods of time.Battery tray must be completely free of any debris for battery to make contact (even a small rock can prevent the battery from powering-up).Not a ton of foot room. I wear size 13 shoes and I'm always hitting the charge port cover and/or battery reset switch.Seat post adjustment limited, I'm 6 feet 4 inches tall and had to drill an extra hole to get the seat height to an acceptable level.I've had this scooter for a little over a month and am pleased with it so far. It's not a Cadillac, but it's not a Yugo either. I've added duel clamp-on cupholders to the steering tiller (where the front basket normally sits), and fabricated my own cane holder that also attaches to the steering tiller. Bought and installed a small backpack on the seat back to carry a vinyl all weather scooter cover and the battery charger.Would recommend this scooter as a compact and lightweight device to move easily through stores and crowded areas. It is attractively designed, color change panels (red/blue) included are easy to change.
5.0 out of 5 stars A great purchase to allow mobility and independence.
We bought this almost a year ago for my mother and it has given her back her mobility and independence as she can no longer walk very far due to illness. My mother weighs less than 150lbs and finds the chair comfortable, easy to manuever and has never had it tip over but does takes care to avoid extreme uneven surfaces. It has gotten stuck once in deep gravel but that was an unusual surface at a festival. We've taken it mall shopping, grocery shopping, Doctor appts, festivals and now during the pandemic for 3 mile neighborhood rides 2 or 3 times per week. As a female in her late 40 with average strength I can break it down and lift the pieces for transporting it in the trunk of a standard size sedan (Hyundai Sonata) but it would be difficult for my mother to lift the two heavier pieces herself although her health certainly plays a factor. The basket is only large enough to hold her medium size purse so we added an additional basket to the back of the seat which is especially helpful for shopping. We are diligent about recharging the battery so have rarely gone more than I'm guessing 5 miles before recharging. I highly doubt it would go more than 7 or 8 miles before needing a charge but I can't say for certain. The few time we forgot to charge it I noticed that the battery indicator light does seem to stay on full charge a long time but once it starts to go down it seems to go down quickly. A beep sound will let you know you need to recharge soon. One time it started beeping about a 1/2 of a mile from home and we made it home without a problem. Note that the battery is almost dead warning beep sound can't be silenced so it can be a little annoying. We do not use it on a daily basis or inside her home. I would say on average we haved used it twice a week for almost a year and the Scooter is still going strong.
Great quality for an amazingly low price.
Hubby has a nuerological disorder that make walking longer distances in loud, bright places difficult. We got it mostly for his medical treatments. The parking lot too far for him to walk to the central entrance.
