Yes, it is yellow, sweet and it does taste like pineapple.Dole sliced pineapple has been a household favorite for many years. Recently, Dole slices became more difficult to find in this form. It seemed that everything we saw was the 'in 100% pineapple juice' form. So, we tried some sliced pineapple from the DM company. It was more white than yellow, seemed to be not as sweet as the Dole slices and was definitely not as flavorful. Rather bland, actually.After receiving a refund (graciously offered by customer service), this Dole product was ordered. It arrived today, right on time. We are now back on track with very tasty, colorful, sweet pineapple slices. Thankfully.The 'best by date' on these is May, 2026. Now that pineapple sandwiches have returned to the menu, I doubt that even 12 large cans will last that long.

These are the same great Dole Pineapple slices in heavy syrup that I have always loved. A must for pineapple upside down cake. The local WalMart doesn't carry them anymore...at least not when I have been there. These arrived in perfect condition and the price was good. I will purchase again.

I know people are looking for a healthier life style. I like heavy syrup. I use can pineapple, peaches, and pears. I don't appreciate companies like Dole and Delmonte and even store brands dictating what kind of syrup I use! Now I've got to adjust several recipes.

Dole pineapple in heavy syrup is the only canned pineapple my family will eat. I am finding it more difficult to find it in the stores so I was happy to find it on Bolo. When I opened the box, I discovered 5 of the 12 cans had dents= 41.6 %. Two were on the top sealed ring which we will eat quickly. The other three are down the sides. The cans were in the cardboard flat encased with heavy plastic. Bubble wrap was placed inside the exterior walls between the cans and the box. The box was not overly deep. The large side dents and a ding on the top lid of another can appear to have been in the cans prior to packaging. We did a taste test and determined that the syrup is not as sweet as the cans I have bought off the store shelf but it is still much better than the pineapple canned in its own juice. Should you get a can --or a whole case :( --of any fruit that is not sweet enough, drain off the juice and put it in a small sauce pan. Warm the juice just until just warm enough to dissolve sugar. Add sugar to the warm juice and stir to dissolve. I use about <1/4 cup sugar per 16 oz. can of pineapple in its own juice. Adjust the amount to your own taste and type of fruit. Cool the juice and add to the fruit. Store in fridge overnight to allow the fruit to absorb the sugar. Adding too warm/hot juice to the fruit will over cook the fruit, soften its texture, and can alter the taste. In the future, if I can find this product on the store shelves, I will buy it that way. If I reach a point where I can't find it in stores, I would reorder it and give it another shot because adding sugar and dissolving it is a pain unless you plan in advance. I had to laugh at the reviewer who said they had to buy a special tool to open the can. That would be a can opener....which is easier for me to open a can with than to open the pull top can lids. I bent a spoon in half that I use to open the pull tops.

I was asked by my family to prepare a family favorite dessert. It is called, Pineapple Delight! Unfortunately, I was unable to find the vital ingredient, pineapple in Heavy syrup. In our health conscious society today most fruit is in juice. I have in the past marinated pineapple in juice with corn syrup and sugar. It worked, however it lacked the flavor. Finding this product saved the day ( and the dessert).

I recommend from top to almost the bottom. I didn't get to finish it, my wife let the dog in the room. It ended up on the floor. All I could here during the commercial break was a big slurpe. I went back in the room. I looked at the arm rest and saw nothing but a flash on my screen. The dog was licking Ronnie Stanley butt so I knew the Raven's were doing a trick play. I would have gotten mad if it wasn't a scoop dop and a score over the in seam which was 6 on the board, one to go and a kickoff that made the touchback evermore than a post of why the 49ers didn't get a cookie when they went home. Buy Now, you wont regret the after glow.
