The 3M Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6500 Series helps provide workers with respiratory protection in harsh, dirty work environments against airborne contaminants when used with approved 3M cartridges and filters. This facepiece combines comfort, durability, and stability with a firm, lightly textured silicone faceseal and strong body construction. The proprietary quick latch design offers an easy, one-hand touch drop-down mechanism for putting the facepiece on and taking it off while moving in and out of contaminated areas. The quick latch also eliminates the need to remove a hardhat or faceshield when lowering or raising the respirator. When properly fitted and used with approved 3M cartridges and filters, this respirator helps provide respiratory protection in workplaces at concentrations up to 10 times the Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL). While being the lightest silicone 3M half facepiece, it is still rugged enough to withstand long hours and extreme conditions. The resilient silicone faceseal offers an extended facepiece life, even keeping its shape in high-heat environments. Innovative design features include a valve cover that helps to direct exhaled breath and moisture downward and 3M’s proprietary Cool Flow Valve that helps to make breathing easier. Made to fit securely and comfortably on the head, the facepiece comes with an adjustable head harness assembly featuring long-lasting polyester/spandex straps that stretch and conform to the individual who wears the respirator. This facepiece is compatible with all 3M bayonet-style filters and cartridges to help provide respiratory protection against a variety of gases, vapors, and particulate hazards (i.e., dust, paint aerosols, etc.) according to NIOSH approvals. This filter compatibility helps to make the respirator highly versatile for many workplace environments and a variety of jobs where respiratory protection is required. Warning: Respirators help protect against certain airborne contaminants. Before use, the wearer must read and understand the User Instructions provided as a part of the product packaging. Follow all local regulations. In the U.S., a written respiratory protection program must be implemented meeting all the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 including training, fit testing and medical evaluation. In Canada, CSA standards Z94.4 requirements must be met and/or requirements of the applicable jurisdiction, as appropriate.

Over the years I've used a variety of masks and respirators. This is one of the more comfortable ones. The silicone face pad is soft and flexible enough to seal well without being too tight, even with a beard. It works well with glasses too, with no fogging. The quick release feature allows you to take a drink without completely removing the mask.If you're in doubt about the sizing, I'm not a particulary large human, and the large size is perfect. I suspect that the medium would have been too small.

I got this primarily to handle spray painting, but I’ve also used it for many other things. Pool chemicals, for example. I no longer have to hold my breath when I open the pool shock container, and my wife can use bleach in the bathroom without me worrying.The quick-release function is awesome, and the main reason I selected this one. It functions flawlessly and a flip of your finger releases the tension enough that the mask releases from your face and hangs free a couple of inches down. When you want to put it back on you’ll need both hands, but it’s a simple matter of placing it back and flipping the latch back.The mask itself is more comfortable than my old gas mask, and although it’s only half-face it seals just as well. The silicone feels good and fits well on my average sized head and face.It’s easy to change filters, although the first time I thought I might break a tab off. Once you get over the small bit of resistance filter installs take, you won’t think about it again. The mask is very sturdy and well built, as you would expect from 3M.The respirator works with any 3M or 3M style filters, but my favorite accessories are 3M part numbers 501 and 603. You can use these parts together with 5P71 cotton filters, or just pop the 501/5P71 combo over your 6000 series cartridge for a pre-filter. Any way you use it, this is a great mask.I have no regrets with this respirator. Great buy.

Bought this to wear while refinishing a shower. The product had a terrible smell that made me light headed. Put this on and no more smell or issues! Fairly comfortable. Need to buy the recommended filters Excellent product and recommend!

Bought for tissue dust, havent used yet, still need the cartridges that go with it. But the mask fit is really comfortable, seal and design are better than expected. Better than those dang metal nosed ones.

Fits better than any I have worn. I do wish it didn't stink like off-gassing chemicals. Not a fan of breathing that. Hoping that fades.

This is a great product design. I build a lot of cabinets and furniture. I’ve been using a respirator that doesn’t work well with eye glasses. I thought that fogging glasses was just status quo with a respirator. I finally reached the point of doing some research and long story short this product is fantastic. It’s easy to put on, comfortable for what it is and zero fogging.

This mask was purchased along with some ammonia filters so I can clean the cat’s litter boxes. I can’t stand the ammonia smell. This mask is so easy to put on and take off. It’s very comfortable and could be worn all day easily. The fit is perfect. I know it says that you should be clean shaven for proper fit. However I have a full beard that is rather long and I don’t want to shave. This mask fits perfectly and doing the fit test to check for leaks, I have no leaks even with a full busy beard. As a home user for personal use this is acceptable. I plan to purchase other filters for it to do painting later on, and dust filters for when I’m in my workshop doing wood working. Time to replace those single use masks and use this one. Great product, very comfortable, easy to use, perfect fit, and my wife says it looks sexy.

I had to get a new mask because my old one broke it's straps. This mask works better than I expected, I recently had to spray some enamel paint on a project I was doing and this mask worked perfectly. I am very pleased with it.
Excellent product
Works great. Well made and comfortable. I used it while sanding some woods and it is comfortable, the adjustments stay in place, and it allows for plenty of air and not give you a feeling of lack of air or blocked air passages. Light weight and tight fitting with the adjustments and easy to put on and take off.

Perfect for Welders!! Easy to take on and off
I purchased this respirator about a month n some ago to replace the 6200 series mask I was using, and lemme tell you..This is THEE perfect respirator for welders, without having to pay hundreds on a PAPR system. Bought the large and it fits perfectly.Although!! I taped the back connecting straps that go behind your neck together with fabric hockey tape since the last ones on my 6200 3M snapped and fell off somewhere in the lab. I couldn't seem to find any replacement parts for them, so Must be 3Ms way to get customers to purchase these more frequently (since these are so durable!!!!)Other than that slight issue, this product still gets 5 stars: for its pricing, fast shipping, product durability, and ease of use underneath a welding hood (also works extremely well with any other application! Plumbing, drywall, etc.)PROS-Cheap. Fast shipping. Durable product. Quick release system works really well no more fussing with the tight straps. The air exhale blows DOWN AND AWAY from your welding lens and work!!!!, easy to use and has various applications it can be applied toCONS-The filters (particularly the pink disc P100 Particulate filters) are pretty pricey. Also the two connecting straps that go around the back of your neck seem prone to falling off so you may as well tape them with fabric tape (plus it acts as a sweat band !!). And finally, if you're a bigger guy like me and tend to sweat easily, when it's humid out your glasses will tend to start taking on a lot of sweat (but that happens to me anyways almost on a regular basis, just slightly more prominent with the masks, not just this one in particular).Please 3m, make replacement parts available for the straps ! And also try and lower filter prices if you can, I go through 1-2 a week at times.Other than those bits, unreal mask!!! Get it for sure
